2025/26 David Moyes

Steadying the ship for the next manager is exactly his job. He knows the score and he's not here past his contract.

The plan I was told was to invest in youth for the first few windows (Aznou types price wise not Dibling) with some 1st teamers. By 27/28 season we should have a a squad to compete with the top 5/6. At this point we should be able to attract a high class coach and not appoint a flavour of the month like previously.
I always thought we’d be looking at 3-5 years minimum for us to get where we want to be, and I knew that would be a hard sell to people because we live in a world where everyone wants everything right away

I hope TFG stay the course and don’t knee jerk to appease people

If a job’s worth doing it’s worth doing right

Moyes will just be part of the overall journey when all is said and done if this goes how we want it to

Tend to agree, but the result is all that matters.

Moyes has to find a way of getting results at home - I don't care whether he's picking people's favourites or not and what position he's playing them in, none of us ever agree on that entirely, we just need to get a couple of home wins, however that happens.

There's been plenty of games at home this season where I haven't thought we were bad, tonight included, but it's past the point where I'm inclined to give any credit for it.

Need at least a point at the weekend and any result other than beating Burnley on Tuesday is unacceptable.

Bizarre thing for me is the over cautious approach at home as if we've got something to hold on to this season.

We're not getting relegated. We won't get a European spot if we don't win games.

So why we playing games with 4 CBs, 5 CMs, 2 attackers etc then still losing?

Just have a go ffs

Yeah but it’s also about how you get there.
I’m sorry but the destination is everything

That’s the mindset people need to have

If we’re winning cups in 5 years time and competing for champions league places then I’m not going to be arsed that we had some dull football under Moyes for 18 months so he could lay the foundation to get us there, and nor should anyone else

I've got to be honest, I wouldn't care if we were winning games.

There's been some he's had relatively attacking line ups and some, like today, where it's looked pragmatic.

End of the day, it's a stick to beat you with when you don't win, but none of us would really care if we were winning.

We've been a mess for years under various managers and some on here think the answer is to change the manager once again, you couldn't make it up.
It will take holding their nerve for this to work but from what I've heard TFG are all in on the plan.

The few good players we have will have no interest in staying for a slow 5 year rebuild. We need to be aiming to qualify for Europe next season.
