2025/26 David Moyes

Lol that makes no sense
Sack him and gain some self-respect instead of 'trundling along'
What “self respect” are we going to gain from sacking the manager mid season when we don’t have to and then scrambling to find a replacement when we could just do it at the end of the season and have a much smoother transition?

Oh yeah, I can FEEL the self respect just oozing out of all of us with that one 🙄

Nose, spite, face etc

We can't win them all.

I thought it was alright and we got suckered on the counter by their 200 million worth of forwards.

No matter how we set up we are not making a functional striker out of Barry.
Why did Moyes sign him then?

Moyes got a tune out of Beto last season but has decided not to play to his (admittedly limited) strengths this season.

NDiaye continues to be played at right midfield without a right full back behind him to help.

Harrison Armstrong, a novice 19 year old central midfielder, is instead being played left wing.

And one of the best centre halfs in the league in Branthwaite is being played at left back. In his place, is notoriously proven liability Michael Keane.

The "no matter how we are set up" that you say is, imo, rightly coming under criticism for the obvious reasons I've highlighted

He’s got many strengths but unfortunately he’ll always be in awe of United and Liverpool. They could put 11 kids out in red jerseys and Moyes would still say they’re a bigger club than we are and it’s always difficult getting something against a United side historically, if you can come away with a point or get out alive you’ve done well.

We need a manager who thinks ‘this is a flaky United team so we’re taking these tonight’. Moyes isn’t that man and never will be.
Exactly, he plays the crests against the traditional powers. Mediocre league, 99% of the teams relatively brittle most of the time but ooer Davey wants to stay humble, bang a few corners in to the box and get the Pat on the head at the end from his perceived betters, he’s allowed to believe that but not to infest our club with it for the second time, all while drawing millions in wages

Yeah, it was rotten. But with that many corners we should have gotten more.
Yeah but he decided on those stupid set piece plans..
Look at the height we have, look at how good a delivery Garner can put in, and yet we stick everyone in a ruck.

That can only be down to one person.

Give credit when it's due
But that also has to work Vice Versa

Right lads here’s the plan. We’re going to drop our best left back, to play our best centre half at left back. We’re going to play our fourth choice centre half there instead. We’re not going to play our best right back, we’re going to play our best centre midfielder there. We’re not going to play Illy in his best position, we’re going to play our best young centre midfield prospect there instead. Gana you’ve been poor lately but don’t worry I’ve got your back. Merlin good game against Villa but you need more time to adjust. George not tonight son we don’t want a wide player against the big boys, we need the defence solid . . . Don’t argue with me son I know we’re at home! Dibling, sorry son I forgot you were here, forget the price tag son, I have . . . patience son I’ll slot you in with a pre-season friendly. Anzou - who the f*** is Anzou?

😂

The sad thing is…that is a very plausible conversation 😞

Exactly

There’s no point sacking him mid season when we’re comfortable in the middle with no relegation risk

He can go at the end of the season if they have someone decent lined up

Sacking someone mid season when we’re trundling along safely in the middle seems like needless chaos that we don’t need
Isn’t that exactly what United have just done?

We're 9th in a league we've struggled in the last few years. We are doing alright this season.
Compared to previous seasons it’s acceptable

We’ve got a mid table squad and we’re in mid table

Not something to celebrate but I think perspective is required here

Under Moshiri we were circling the drain

Under TFG and Moyes we can at least have some hope that we can kick on now

That kicking on likely won’t happen with Moyes at the helm, but he was always here to steady the ship for the next manager and he’s basically doing that
