2025/26 David Moyes

I don't know how long you have been watching Everton but during his last season we often dominated games playing very good passing football. One game stands out for me,in a midweek kick off we went to a newly minted Man City and controlled the game from the kickoff winning 2-0 .

Yes I remember a lot of games we played well in, but there was plenty of poor games a lot more imo. I was at his last ever game at home v West Ham, won 2-0 should have been 6. We were very good that day, let’s not forget though that even Walter smiths team won games 4 and 5 and 6’s and he would have 6 defenders on the pitch.

After that West Ham game we went to Chelsea his last ever game as mananger, he’d never won at away at the then big 4. We couldn’t go higher than 6th or lower.
So
Basically not much to play for apart from pride and maybe finally getting a win at one of the big 4. At 1-1 with 25mins to go ?? Give or take,
He throws a defensive sub on, why??
Shock horror, Torres scores and we lose 2-1. That’s Moyes in a nutshell and it will never change

Let's look at who we've had managing since Ancelotti and then think of who we'll get when Moyes contract is finished (keep it to realistic options). Then let's get back to your original statement that Moyes has never played entertaining football, which obviously isn't the case, which you admit yourself.

I don't think anybody who saw Moyes best ream could sensibly argue that they never played attractive football. The Arteta, Pieenar, Cahill, Baines, Coleman axis of superbness, was a usually a joy to watch.

It’s very rare and it was 15yrs ago I’ve seen nothing in 13 months to suggest that’s happening anytime
Soon. And I only care about moving forward, not what happened two years ago, that’s irrelevant. Moyes is getting a free pass because we’ve struggled at home for a few years.

Im an electrician and it’s like me going to house after a bothched job and Doing an equally poor job. And saying to customer, your last electrician was also [Poor language removed], so what you moaning at

But if you customer can't afford a full rewire but can only pay you to make what the previous spark did safe? That's effectively what Moyes is doing at the moment.

Opta gave it an XG of 0.7, so 7 put of 10 times it should be scored so a very good chance but not a sitter.

The loss isn’t on Barry when he has to chase his own knockdowns & gets one chance a game.
Barry’s XG for the season is 5.4. So was ahead of his XG tiil Bournemouth. We’re 18th for chances created in the Premier League. But it’s not the managers fault
