2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes has been good for us but I think we have to change in the summer.

At some point you've got to give something new a try. Look at Brentford, there's no way anyone would've said for them to get rid of Frank because he was doing well, they were solid and stable. Obviously it wasn't their choice but look how it's worked out, they're a brilliant team, in the cup and looking at Europe in the league (much more than we are).

It could go badly but what do we want to be as a club? We've got a fantastic new stadium, new owners and a squad that means realistically we won't go down so what are the arguments for not taking a punt on something new?

i think brentford is a different case though, not to put a slight on andrews who seems a really good coach, but the recruitment is absolutely spot on, pretty much every signing they get suits the way the team plays and andrews sets up from there

we have a very disjointed approach and a more archaic one in moyes having final say on transfers. which pep and klopp don’t/didnt have

i also don’t agree that the chances of going down next season are low. forest, spurs, palace are all down in a scrap this year and you could argue they have better squads and individuals than us, the former two certainly more expensively assembled

i do want us to push on next year, and I’m not averse to a new manager, but i don’t think we can say we’re definitely too good to go down in the coming seasons

in fact, our home form is bad enough to see us relegated, thankfully we’ve put together good form away and those smash and grab wins at united, bournemouth, forest, villa and fulham are precisely why we arent in a scrap this year

After the Fulham game he was asked if he was happy with the performance, he said he wasn't happy with the first half because we were not moving past the centre and getting up the pitch.

When he's asked about Dibling, he says he wants to see him do what he does, attack, create, score..

The way he speaks, he wants what we want, to be on the front foot, attacking more, players doing what they were brought in to do.

Between what we're seeing and he's saying, we somehow get stuck in the mud.

The mud is the lack of Fb's, a top striker, and removing Gana.

If he gets the summer spend, and doesn't address those areas, than he just can't and never will see the mud.

Mate you’re on here most days chatting Bobbins,
Why would I believe that

Obviously we can each rate “difficulty” different and gawd knows Everton sometimes make the easy look difficult and occasionally vice versa but Moyes is going to have to earn his money in the run in.

Not a fixture list that suggests a contract extension becomes more likely by the summer. Then again, it's a chance for him to prove that narrative wrong. A double over Man U would go a long way to getting me back on side (if only because I am going to that with a United-supporting friend)...

Talk is cheap, actions speak louder, playing centre backs at right back and centre midfielders as wide forwards isn't talking the talk
