2025/26 David Moyes

I don't think anybody who saw Moyes best ream could sensibly argue that they never played attractive football. The Arteta, Pieenar, Cahill, Baines, Coleman axis of superbness, was a usually a joy to watch.
Totally agree, and there's been performances since his return that have been good too.
It’s far too sporadic imo though, I’ve no idea why there can’t be some consistency in performances where we occasionally dominate opposition.
I love someone to explain it, is it reliant on the opposition having a bad day? is it the players only occasionally doing what their told? It’s weird tbh.

What I will say is that even in Moyes’ peak years the good football would tend to happen between March and May. The winters were often a slog.

Moyes has been good for us but I think we have to change in the summer.

At some point you've got to give something new a try. Look at Brentford, there's no way anyone would've said for them to get rid of Frank because he was doing well, they were solid and stable. Obviously it wasn't their choice but look how it's worked out, they're a brilliant team, in the cup and looking at Europe in the league (much more than we are).

It could go badly but what do we want to be as a club? We've got a fantastic new stadium, new owners and a squad that means realistically we won't go down so what are the arguments for not taking a punt on something new?

Tenth would be average. In fact he's around seventh and there's only five hundred thousand between seventh and twelfth in the salary list (if it's accurate that is) . He got basically the same deal as Dyche.
Steady there partner, we’re currently 8th you’ll have the ‘out performing a fairly meaningless table’ crew out for blood.

7th best paid but only 8th in the league!?!?!
That sort of language is like putting the bat signal up 😱😱

‘The football became rigid and joyless, as if the only acceptable emotion was endurance. Long balls into wide areas, crosses into bodies, and a constant retreat into the low block even when the situation demanded a step forward. Matches didn’t feel like battles for three points, they felt like survival drills.’
