2025/26 David Moyes

On the players this one. That 5 minute spell is where we lost that game, the players switched off defensively. Looked a lot more dangerous, right up until they scored. An even type game against two evenly matched teams, we definitely created a lot more better chances. Can't really remember being overly worried, even when they scored it felt as though we would still be OK. Wasn't to be.

Yes, Moyes is ultimately responsible, as manager, and you can argue that he should have changed up the subs once they scored. But, at the end of the 90 minutes it was just one of those strange periods in games that turned the game, I only saw the highlights but can imagine this is what Fulham felt like at the weekend.

Whether he’s here or not next season, he shouldn’t be given any say on recruitment in the summer and if he wants to spit his dummy out over that then he can resign. I’m sick of watching teams rock up to our ground with teams full of players I’ve never heard of that we probably knocked back due to having no PL experience and play us totally off the park. Enough is enough now. Someone at the club (our CEO) needs to grow a set of bollocks and enforce a modern recruitment strategy. If he’s too weak to do that then he should be sacked.

Yup. Unless we radically improve our recruitment, "flavour of the month hipster managers" are unlikely to improve us. It's why, in my view, we need a renowned manager to attract quality players currently out of our bracket. A Carlo backed with Friedkin money would be a compelling opportunity for us. Moyes was apparently shocked at being turned down so much last summer. But he's never going to attract enough of the foreign stars we would need to kick on in the absence of a proper recruitment team. And ours was basically on gardening leave last summer and away without leave in January.
Not sure I quite buy this. The longest serving of Dom Carlos signings was Doucoure.

The rest either flattered to deceive or sloped off having ultimately disappointed.

He has to get more attacking threat in the side as we are just far too blunt. The easiest way to do that, without putting square pegs in round holes is to get a midfield 2 of KDH and Garner together, Alcaraz in front him and start to give minutes to Aznou and Patterson for balance.

He says we're not scoring enough goals, so instead of hoping that your striker doesnt do his own version of looking like Bambi, get other players in and around it who can be a nuisance as KDH can't do it all by himself.
You will be waiting a long time for Moyes to pick a line up
That attacking

Home form is atrocious.

Stubbornness with some players/player positions is annoying me.

But we're still mid table and that's where I had us/wanted us start of the year. Anything more is a massive bonus.
For me and I’m totally anti Moyes 😂 it’s not about league position, it’s everything else that frustrates you with him. A month a ago, his supporters would say, what subs do you want him to
Make he’s got nobody on the bench. Well you can’t make that excuse now, we even have Asnou and McNeil sitting in the stands

Longest-serving? How about highest quality? People like James were head and shoulders above anything we've seen since (and no, Grealish isn't even close). The problem, of course, was Ancelotti's appointment was built on a house of sand. He wasn't backed to do a rebuild. He was brought in as a Bread and Circuses appointment to cover a multitude, but there was no serious plan to back him over time because the money wasn't there...or wouldn't be there due to PSR. And James was the playing equivalent. A glamorous band aid that distracted us momentarily from our mismanagement.

But if we had a chance to get Carlo again with proper ownership, then it's a no-brainer in terms of his reach. The one reservation I would have is his age. I doubt he'd fancy the rebuild.

What a truly missed opportunity his tenure here was. With Everton, we either have the ambition or the money, but never both at the same time. To be fair, it could be worse. Under Bill we had neither.

Absolutely boils my piss the No PL Experience thing. Not only are we severely limiting our options it just smacks of complete and utter laziness as well

I think it was fine when in relegation battle and trying to stabilise, next season is time to change

The thing is for me, last night was an anomalie that cannot be put totally on Moyes.

I believe you were one of the people that was constantly banging the Fulham & Leeds should have been 2/3 up at half time. Well, this time it could be easily argued that we were that team last night, and it went into the second half. We had 5/6 opportunities that on another night would have gone in, whether it be great last ditch defending or poor finishing they didn't last night. We easily had the better chances and should have been out of sight well before the 5 minutes of madness.

I fully agree with the subs, they were poor. At 1-0, they may have been OK, as Armstrong did show something when he came on. But as soon as they scored, it should have been changed up. The overall reason we lost last night though was poor finishing, great blocks by Bournemouth and 5 minutes of multiple individual mistakes.

Not every defeat is 100% on the manager, this one I would say is about 25% on him. He is the manager, so there will always be responsibility put on his shoulders, but sometimes you just need to step away from your hate of one man and analyse the bigger picture.

I understand why people are saying this, whilst it not necessarily my opinion I’m curious who would you bring in that can drive this club to the next level?? And I’m not asking to challenge what you’re saying, I just don’t know who the answer is. I think the big key thing this summer is recruitment in the most desperate areas, full backs and striker!
He has not brought in a fullback since he returned even though it's been glaringly obvious one (or two were needed) had hopes after Tete knocked us back he was aware of the problem and yet...

It’s an outdated idea from 20 years ago based around foreign players not being physically up to the standards of the league. That’s very much not the case anymore, as we saw last night with a Brazilian 19 year old who’s been over here less than a month absolutely rinsing our meek, skinny, 26 year old Premier League proven experienced left back.
