2025/26 David Moyes

Just reading through the thread, honestly it feels like for some people his press conference performances are more important than his performance as manager. Be arsed with what he says. His public statements will differ significantly to his internal messaging.

Talking about having to win a few games we’re not expected to win in the run in

Needs to knock all that on the head, i get what he’s saying but this is close to Moshiri’s expected losses again. It’s just assuming inferiority before a ball has been kicked.
Maybe if we had won the home games we were expected to win he'd not need to pull a few out of his imaginary fire.

At this moment, he's got the side a little higher than we could have reasonably demanded - but the cups have let him down badly. But let's focus on the league, which is very tight and currently paints his job in a positive light. He is now in a position to capitalise on his side's excellent away form. Tomorrow is a huge opportunity for Moyes to show that for all his faults he can take us higher than we should demand and higher than his self-installed personal ceiling suggests. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we win on Tuesday. Just as the last two Fulham performances were textbook Marco Silva capitulations from the jaws of victory, a failure to get over the line tomorrow when opportunity knocks would be classic Moyes. Because his team has blown every single chance it has had to make genuine strides this season, following up tremendous wins with home capitulations and damp squibs. After a while, that becomes a pattern.

Here's to being proven spectacularly wrong. If he gets Europe, he will deserve an extension. It's a tantalising opportunity for him. But it's also a test. Is he really the man his cheerleaders tell us he is? Tuesday night will tell a tale because if we fail to take yet another opportunity to really make strides, it might be time to accept we are a mid-table outfit at best. That's fine, par for this season's course. But nothing impressive enough to suggest we shouldn't be looking at other possibilities, should they emerge, over the summer.

We live in interesting times. Up the traveling homesick Toffees!

You think it’s bad now, wait until ½ time tomorrow.

Oh all the big hitters then lol.

But the predication was us finishing 8th

So would 54 points and finsihing 8th still be a disapointment?
I think 54 points is below par tbh. Is 8th a disappointment would depend on who's finished above you and what points they got. The league isn't that great imho.

Doesn't matter, you were trying to argue that Dyche didn't have to sell players to keep the club afloat. Clearly he and Thelwell had to do that. If you want to deny reality then crack on.

I think we have a really strong squad when all fit. I don't actually believe we should sign Grealish considering his age and injury. As much as I like him. I think the challenge is keeping our best players and keeping the squad happy whilst gradually adding to it.

One look at that list shows how desperate you were to get names on it. Price made 1 sub appearence. Mina wasnt even sold. His contract ran out lol.
