2025/26 David Moyes

Mate, I wanted him sacked when I saw the team sheet on Saturday and after that first half performance. Thankfully I'm not in charge. If we had a proper right back he would pick him. We don't so he doesn't. We're seventh on a 13th place budget after years of relegation battles. Fans criticise every single manager in the world including Pep and Klopp. They always think they know better. If you're 7th in the table with the budget of a 13th placed team your manager is getting most things right.

I agree with you 100% mate, but by what measure are we 13th? Is that wages?

So what did you expect when he came back ?
I bet it wasn't as good as this , despite all the injuries.
Perhaps your perceived failings that the guy has , are simply that he knows the game better than you , as he keeps getting results ?
Expected him to raised the standard and keep it steady. Which hes done. And done it from previous years with a few signicantly betters players.
Not sure my perceived failings of him equate to him knowing better, but if it makes you feel better he knows factor times more...but we fans see things too. We all have had our experiences.

Sure. I'd retort with, hes wise enough to put Jake at RB given what's what but does he have it in move JOB to CB alongside JB.
Or do we never get there and lose the potentially best CB pairing in league for years to come.
Did he not take the surely option to win the game against Leeds (shift his approach to match the wide threat from the start, ie be proactive and take the win) or be stubborn.
Both Leeds and Fulham were games he lost by rights. Luck and the team keeping him higher.
Hope I'm proven wrong but calling it as I see it.

The context is genuinely irrelevant. Saying you'd sell KDH (a quality player) and keep Alcaraz (a headless chicken) is is just nuts. I don't mean it invalidates your opinion on everything Zat, but it sort of invalidates your opinion on those two players to me.

KDH is NOT a quality player at 10. He isnt even a 10 and is anonymous there. The first half against Fulham shows this, as do most games when hes used there.

Alcaraz is a quality 10 when used in a team that focuses on quick transitions e.g last season. Not slow build up like this season.

To state otherwise it just looks like you dont watch the games, are a sheep or have a limited understanding.

Not a big deal for me tbh.

It’s pointless to argue with you.

Argue? You dont argue or discuss.

Your sole purpose here is to praise Moyes.

To be fair Zat when a player is good enough, regardless of age - Moyes tends to play them.

We all want to see the young lads thriving. Some should definitely have had more of a chance but no manager we have had in recent years has ever really leant into the youth heavily unless they were stand out.

Armstrong playing each game now is a testament to how good he is.

Rohl plays well finally and is dropped.
Alcaraz got motm's and was used out wide
Patterson plays well and is dropped
Aznou has a quality cameo and dropped

Its just random and can be shown across multiple positions. There is no rewarding merit by Moyes.

Stating "dibling needs to pull his finger our" to be used is utter nonsense and lies.

Isolating and hooking players when theyre not the worst on the pitch is Moyes modus operandi.

Im tired of it.

People keep using Armstrong as an example but he ended up in the first team because there was absolutely no choice but to play him. We had no other players in that position due to a combination of injuries and AFCON. Moyes is on record, numerous times, stating that he wouldn't have brought him back unless circumstances forced it and is also on record right up until the 11th hour of the transfer window that he would prefer to send him back to Preston. Now that other players are back I'm not convinced that he'll continue being selected. Time will tell, of course, but it's a little early to claim that Armstrong is an iron clad example of a youngster Moyes trusts.

Indeed. Hes backed himself into a corner by saying if he keeps him he'll have to start him

What this means is that he'll not be made a fool of so Armstrong starts and gets hooked first.

Thing is that Moyes knows his and the limitations of life, its what makes him successful.
In the first half at Leeds and first half Fulham the limitations were there.
He's good in the adverseness though and Moyes at his best in the second half Fulham
He wasnt having Silva and Iwobi do him.
Just saying, there's a glass ceiling to the fella.

Then why did he setup the same way 2 games in a row where we started badly and could have been down multiple goals in each game?

He doesnt know his limitations. Hes a cowarsly negative manager.

I don't care what Moyes earns, 12 million is a very average player these days. If that average player gets us from relegation fodder to Europe in one full season, he would instantly have cult status.
Keep proving them wrong Davo.

Except your context wasn't about KDH being an 8 or a 10...

Just to add to this, if we were able to rebuild the midfield next summer then at this time i'd go with:

KDH - Sell if we can get our money back
Rohl - Sell if we can get our money back
Iroegbunam - Squad player or sell
Gana - thanks for the memories
Garner - KEEP
Alcaraz - KEEP

Garner & Alcaraz the only 2 I particularly rate. I think Moyes really needs to overhaul the midfield.

He literally stated he would only sign "robust" players at the start of the summer...what is Rohl?
(It's actually even worse than I remember)

The purchase cost of our squad is 13th most expensive.
