2025/26 David Moyes

Why? We played like crap yesterday. Yes we won thanks Leno who is terrible.
Defensive mistakes everytime. Fortunately only 1 goal to trail. But Luck end sooner or later
Yes pal the only reason Everton won yesterday was Leno. Now how about putting that troublesome little ego aside and admit you made a boo boo please, for the good of the forum.

Why are you ignoring the context?

Ive had the same view on KDH for 3 years. Theres no "gotcha" moment with a stranger on an internet football forum im afraid.

One player is a 10 and the other is an 8.
The context is genuinely irrelevant. Saying you'd sell KDH (a quality player) and keep Alcaraz (a headless chicken) is is just nuts. I don't mean it invalidates your opinion on everything Zat, but it sort of invalidates your opinion on those two players to me.

Did Moyes also develop Rooney?

Who developed Messi and Maradona?

Its a bit different to players like Aznou, Dibling, Rohl etc to those who are clearly levels above and play each week no matter the manager.

Show me a player or three who has been developed by Moyes as a teenager to become a good premier league player. A player who Moyes has clearly developed and improved through using him and training them up.

Everton need a manager who can do this.
It’s pointless to argue with you.

To be fair Zat when a player is good enough, regardless of age - Moyes tends to play them.

We all want to see the young lads thriving. Some should definitely have had more of a chance but no manager we have had in recent years has ever really leant into the youth heavily unless they were stand out.

Armstrong playing each game now is a testament to how good he is.

Declan rice?

When other teams play bad and win, I’m not sure their fans care as much. “Never say die”, “playing bad and winning sign of the true champions” - all rolled out when the RS pulled it out the bag the last few seasons. Really need to get on with it and enjoy these wins

Is it a coincidence that upon this out pouring of pro Moyles adulation following another atrocity of a team set up, followed by another scraped result, which on another day would have been 4:0 at ½ time, that the forums ads are leading with this?

No, I think not too.

The site owners should be applauded for this proactive approach to caring for the Forum community

People keep using Armstrong as an example but he ended up in the first team because there was absolutely no choice but to play him. We had no other players in that position due to a combination of injuries and AFCON. Moyes is on record, numerous times, stating that he wouldn't have brought him back unless circumstances forced it and is also on record right up until the 11th hour of the transfer window that he would prefer to send him back to Preston. Now that other players are back I'm not convinced that he'll continue being selected. Time will tell, of course, but it's a little early to claim that Armstrong is an iron clad example of a youngster Moyes trusts.

I think some of that Spurs squad are still recovering from playing Angeball hence they have so many injuries this season. I would still have expected Frank to do a little better than they have but no doubt they are struggling for bodies.

Moyes had 6 players on the bench a few weeks ago against Sunderland without a single minute of league football between them due to strugglling for bodies.
Mad how some Everton fans are so lenient towards that for other clubs managers but simply wont have it as any reason for their own lol.

Thing is that Moyes knows his and the limitations of life, its what makes him successful.
In the first half at Leeds and first half Fulham the limitations were there.
He's good in the adverseness though and Moyes at his best in the second half Fulham
He wasnt having Silva and Iwobi do him.
Just saying, there's a glass ceiling to the fella.

So in just over 12 months he’s been here, the club has moved grounds, had new owners, had 2 and a half windows, a complete squad rebuild, spent £113m to re build the squad, inherited a squad that’s been fighting relegation, turned the away record around and currently has us sitting in 8th but it’s not deemed good enough by some of the fanbase.

The home record could be better but surely everyone knew it would be a struggle winning at home in a new stadium. It takes time to adapt to new stadiums.

The style of football isn’t great to watch at times but it’s effective and winning games that under previous managers would have lost.

Under this manager, and current squad. We are literally about 4 players away from constantly challenging for top 8 places and hopefully a cup win. This summer window is massive and if we get a RB, LB, CF and a midfielder, will have a good team that competes.
And a new young centre back please
