2025/26 David Moyes

All about opinions, just like with players , tactics etc. I've moaned about his selections, recently Brighton , Fulham etc, could of been well beat on 1st half showings , got 4pts so what do I know
Mate this is it.

Absolutely everyone is it entitled their opinion but sometimes you've just got to hold your hands up and say Davie Moyes OBE knows best.

Coming on a forum throwing digital windmills, trying to prove your opinion is correct is futile.

Beautifully put, @Exeter_Gently.

Whatever people’s opinions of Moyes are, remaining objective would help many threads on this forum.

1/ I didn't say he should have won one, I said if he wanted to be seen as a special manager he would have won one...he's had enough time to get one.

2/ so what he didn't have a massive budget. Did Martinez's budget at Wigan mean he couldn't beat City in their final?..or any other winner like O'Neill with Leicester, or Ravenelli at Leicester, or Birmingham etc etc
Budgets dictate who wins trophies over the long term.

You do get the odd cup competition which a team with a smaller budget wins occasionally, but it's relatively rare. There have been 16 FA Cup finals since we were last in one - 13 of them have been won by "big 6" teams.

Similarly there have been 3 non "big 6" winners of the League Cup in the last 20 years

Last time I checked, Ravanelli had never managed in this country, but if you mean Ranieri then yeah, it's the one example in PL history of an underdog winning the league. Will probably never be repeated. But if you think it should be, then we should probably ask why your mate Martinez was too busy finishing undoing all of Moyes's work and finishing 11th that season?

Like even IF don't like him that's fine.

But the lengths people go to sow division is genuinely not good for the fanbase.

I genuinely believe some Blues aren't happy when we win,and their dislike for him and their need to be proven right,That he is in fact a poor manager takes far more of a precedence.

We really haven't. We've just remained constantly crap. We won five pathetic home games last season. We're currently on four. As crap as we are at home, I think we'll cobble together a few more wins to keep our crap average going and beat our worst record. In the last three years we've won five, eight and six. Sounds like our terrible form goes way deeper than Moyes.

Whilst I agree with what you've put, in our first 8 games at HD, we won 4, drew 2 and lost 2.

In the last 4 we've drawn 2 lost 2. We don't have to go back seasons to see regression. We are starting to look like rabbits caught between the headlights at home. Bournemouth becomes massive as we are unlikely to see a win against utd as things stand.

I completely agree with most of this, and I’ve at times showed my disdain to certain Moyes related things. But it always comes from a good place in that we are desperate for some success. And I’m still man enough to say he’s the right msn for job right now & improved us.

However your last point I’ve bolded, could it not be argued there are posters who are trying to do exactly this but in the opposite way? That we should all fall in line & have the same singular opinion?

That Moyes is exempt from any criticism & that we must all post only one view of him?!

Because the pile on towards any poster who dares to be critical in the last 24 hours I’ve found to be very unpalatable.

It’s a footy forum, where everyone is entitled to their own views. I don’t always agree with what I read but such is life.

I think we do get caught in the ‘reactive’ trap when a game is live as we watch it. But it’s just emotions that lead fans to wanting better. I’m guilty of that at times too.

I keep reminding people of this as well. Home form has been an issue for years.

He is absolutely NOT exempt from criticism.

There have been times this season he's had me pulling my hair out,but then I relax, take stock and look at the picture on the whole, which isn't bad.
