2025/26 David Moyes

…..given the Mykolenko injury, the late change to include Branthwaite, the back four did ok. Aznou and Patterson more conventional full backs but Moyes knows the risk they carry. We could easily have been out of the game.

Not sure what team comfortably wins 2-0 at Brighton, wins are tough in this league.

Good game management, took the risk with the substitutions and it paid off.
Mate, I'm very much pro-Moyes currently but I think it's ok to suggest that playing with no full backs and one recognised wide player was pragmatism gone too far for many people and the first half performance sort of encapsulated exactly what most thought would happen.

In fairness to Moyes, we were probably a bit unlucky to go behind but Brighton aren't Man City, the level of pragmatism felt disproportionate to the opponent.

Do I want Moyes gone at the end of the season? Absolutely not as things stand. I think his contract length is perfect for the initial rebuilding job and then we assess after that, but there are always going to be individual games/decisions where he doesn't get it right. I don't think he got it right today.

He's done well since coming back, esp. last season and the away form is very good.

But he's got a negative streak that produces joyless, percentage football.

He's been like that for 20+ years.

Maybe that's ok after the trauma of the last few seasons. 33 pts by end of Jan is good compared to previous seasons.

But the points we've thrown away (3 pts from Brentford, Wolves, Leeds, today) we'd be clear in 4th with any kind of decent return.

I'm convinced the reason we're so poor in first half is he sends them out thinking we're playing Barca 2011-13 - every single time.

We're not getting relegated. Take the handbrake off. Have a real go for top 6. Even if we lose a few, the fans will appreciate it

The next two days are pivotal really to our season. We have the first teamers back in, we really need at least one addition to freshen up the squad a little and he needs to just keep selecting winning formations. Not chopping and changing
The season already is what it is. The next two days are critical in terms of the club having self awareness.

Good here this evening isn't it.
You can absolutely sense the fume off some that we equalised there .
Seething they are as their rants mean less now .
It was the team selection and the performance, he absolutely got away with one their today.
Shoehorning players into a team that looks dysfunctional and unbalanced can only lead to inconsistency which is exactly what we are seeing.

If it was forced then ok but that wasn't today.
Patterson has done ok since coming back, dropped
Rohl nowhere to be seen since his great performance at Villa
JOB back at RB were we all know offers nothing going forward, against a team that gives you lots space due to their style.

A bit of balls and the correct team selection we could of had all 3 points today.
That where the frustration of the manager comes from.

Yes, it's you.

You said the same last time. Told me to take a walk and make a friend and I was also boring.

Your routine is a bit boring now, it was slightly amusing at first. You still never admit you got it wrong, you want with these sub par insults as well last time.

Moyes is amazing isn't he, proper exciting football from him.
There’s a reason I say them things though isn’t there Moomin my old boy.

And I think the reason it gets under your skin is because it’s true, and I think you know it. Must be tough being dull!

I don’t need you to like Moyes, I can form my own opinion and honestly your obsession with me is flattering but I don’t want to be your friend, maybe you should spend time with people your own age.

Problem with Moyes is when his full squad is available his choices are there to see.

When he has players out, through injury or suspension, he does crazy things like play a RB at RB.

Today he has 2 trophy winning CBs today, what does he do? Plays them as FB’s.

We bring a RB on for 10mins and we score..
Imagine one on from the start!?

These things are adding up and showing his limitations.

I can't stomach another 18 months of Moyes tactics. If our new overlords have any ambition, a change in the summer is required. Teams will be sniffing around the few quality players we have in the summer, and the prospect of another season under Moist may well see them jump ship. We need to build, not stagnate.
Thanks for stabilising us Davey, but it's time to retire.
