2025/26 David Moyes

Genuine question. Where do you think this squad should have finished?
Thats an impossible question really with the amount of variables to every side in the league. Injuries, declines in form of clubs like Liverpool and to a (much) lesser extent spurs are hard to predict.

I have no problem admitting that at the start of the season I would have taken a mid table finish but the context and the way that things have played out change that. This season ended up being a massive opportunity for a lot of mid table clubs to get themselves into Europe, and when it came down to the run in we had the easiest fixtures and have ended up with the worst results.

When someone has had this many years in charge of the club without winning anything, it becomes a valid concern to see a big opportunity for progress be squandered.

Everyone on here should know what Moyes is most capable of and he's hitting that level now,and equally everyone on here should know that he won't take us to that next level, his shortcomings and stubborness are far too ingrained for him too change. His record against top sides away from home testifies his safety first nature,1 win against sky 4 in 70 visits, which was with Wham,is beyond awful.
I for one am happy with him being here,so is my mental health,is he the man to take us forward, definately not but while he is here i can appreciate the stability he has brought to the mess we were in.

And we should be there to capitalize but we dont have a manager who can, thats the point.

Instead we have two minnows above us and a newly promoted team up our hoop who could overtake us tomorrow.
This Arsenal team aren’t great either tbh, we should have easily won this league.

Some teams over perform and some teams underperform. Newcastle should be clear of us but they aren’t. So should Chelsea.
Newcastle are exactly where they are because Howe bought a number of players he has no idea how to use, he is one of the most limited tactically in the league. Watching him try to use Woltemade has been hilarious, hasn't got a clue, the fact he thinks the guy is a striker just because he is tall says everything imo. Chelsea are an utter basket case, 5 DoF's, certain people control certain areas, the only people with any serious say are the 2 at the top. They are the opposite of us in a sense that It's all youngsters and they lack a bit of experience to guide them through in games. We have Moyes who prefers the more experienced players over the youngsters. The best teams are usually a blend/mix of both.

2 random dates? That just comes across as a weak reasoned cheap shot. If you think it’s completely irrelevant that Moyes has more points in the last 16 months than Iriola, who we’d all take, then there’s simply no reasoning or debating with you. You’ve got it in for Moyes, won’t acknowledge he’s done it with worse players than Iriola has had at his disposal. It’s all agenda driven nonsense without reasoning or facts.
So, you think it is irrelevent that one team, Bournmouth, has consistently done well against the big six and is on the cusp of CL and has young players that other teams want VS ...Moyes' Everton consistently does poorly against the big teams, has us on the cusp of nothing and we have no idea if we have any young talent on our team...you are making the argument that Moyes is doing the better job? Yes, someone has an agenda🤣

….i think they’ve largely been a decent partnership. Funny nobody talks about the chances Ndiaye and KDH have missed in critical games on the run-in. Also, Moyes has really only had one window, he’s got us moving in the right direction.

Bottom line is, I’d be amazed if the people that matter don’t agree that he’s been exactly what we need to see us through a difficult transition. He’ll surely be here for at least another season, quite possibly more ;)
I think this is a major problem, TFG look like big wave surfers. They risk everything on the pulse of the fanbase. So I don't know if they genuinely figured out ways to improve our position compared to their other investments. They need to show ambition now in the new ground, we need to be planned out for the long term. Moyes is a nice to have comfort food that will leave you malnourished.

And you have some Evertonians advocating Howe which I can't fathom

Yet they’ve got less points than us since Moyes took over 😂

I know that at VfB Stuttgart, Woltemade was often used with another striker, granted. But he was a striker no doubt. Their play simply allowed them to have two strikers and two wingers at all times. They work this out with a double pivot. Premier league is different, the single striker logic prevails everywhere, a double 6 is almost unheard of here.
