2025/26 David Moyes

He can see out his contract upstairs too... It is insane to accept the season petering out has no effect on his job. If a team is 6-7th in league in March and 10th in May, that is reason to question the manager.
Is it? Constantly undermining their coaches is also why so many teams struggle to make any progress or develop identities!

Are we undermining him and are we lacking identity? Do we want to be known as serial bottles or people subserviant to the sly six? Subscribing to the stability project the best way forward, we haven't even been told what is the long term plan. Permanent mediocrity, I have seen enough to know it is our current identity and our manager is a large part of it.

Well, that was a broad stroke. Premier league 'experience' shapes a lot of tactics. But he is better that your average manager. Although, we really shouldn't be comparing someone like Moyes to Howe anyhow.
I can compare whichever managers I want pal, and I don't rate either but it would be Moyes over Howe any day of the week. As for PL experience its made up tosh by certain managers with very little evidence to back it up. The best managers and players in the league over the past 10=15 years have nearly all been overseas ones.

Beat Sunderland tomorrow and it will be our highest points total in 5 seasons,is it a missed chance to finish higher,of course it is,but when the stats and numbers are collated and put in columns for future reflection it will show we finished this season with more points than the prevous 5 seasons and that will be looked upon as progress whatever we have endured to achieve it.

Like I said, it is like comparing a boss and their subordinate in this case. Howe is a decent manager for what he does, he is simply having his rough patch. Howe easily has the 'long-term' stability markers we look forward to in our club mind.

And probably going to qualify be in the Champions League.

A feat that Moyes has never achieved.
There's still a fair few things that would need to go their way for that, even if they are individually more likely than not. But let's be honest, it absolutely shouldn't be a thing that the team finishing sixth (or fifth even) is qualifying for the Champions League.

Howe is a typical overrated British manager imo, you clearly rate him whereas I don't, that's it tbh.

He’s a try hard troll. His post had absolutely no reasoning. There’s no world where it’s “probable” that Liverpool will fail to qualify for the CL. Basic maths and football knowledge tells us that. He just had to say something.

He was always seeing out his contract; dunno why anyone would think differently.
Seeing out his contract is one thing...it was the shouts to give him a new one and spend big ( after we beat Chelsea🤣) that started this meltdown for some of us...Now with some managers being available, the thought was maybe get the manager you want now. If we get to Next season and I hear " we may as well give Moyes a new contract because there is no one else available", well that might be Armegeddon:)
