2025/26 David Moyes

So we’re celebrating 2 points dropped away to Brighton now?

We have the players to be comfortably winning that 2-0.

I am all for celebrating the footballers on the pitch that got us that point in spite of David Moyes’ best efforts.

…..given the Mykolenko injury, the late change to include Branthwaite, the back four did ok. Aznou and Patterson more conventional full backs but Moyes knows the risk they carry. We could easily have been out of the game.

Not sure what team comfortably wins 2-0 at Brighton, wins are tough in this league.

Good game management, took the risk with the substitutions and it paid off.

For every “Moyesette” there is a “Moyes out, no matter what”. We are 3 points from 5th in the league and doing fine based on an extremely modest summer spend. Very happy for a review in the summer, and if he goes, he goes. But for now he is not doing a bad job.
We’re as close to 4th in terms of points as we are to 13th. It’s a ludicrously condensed middle of the table and we’ve played one more than most.

I’d argue that the 4 points we would need to be level with United have been dropped over the last two games with hideous, back foot selections and tactics against teams that we should have been looking to go at. Leeds are still in the relegation fight and Brighton had won 1 in 10.

Of course, starting on the front foot may have seen us lose both games, we’ll never know now, but I am just bone tired of the complete and utter refusal to pay attention to players’ form, picking favourites no matter what, making subs too late if at all, etc.

Have we improved from Dyche? Leaps and bounds. Do we need to move on from Moyes before we can hope to see the back of the many negatives that still remain? IMO 100%. As I said in the match thread, the day after the last game of the season he should be gone with our heartfelt thanks.

Possibly deserve that given they snatched a win from us late on in the past.

We didn't deserve it for the team we put out though. What does that say to the full backs, do we play with 4 CB's at home from now on when we don't control the game enough anyhow?

The players need to start together to build up partnerships, every game we have a different 11, so no wonder they play like strangers.

The way this season has shaped up a point away is not good enough in light of 1) BHA are on a terrible run of form and 2) our home form is disastrous - given our away form of last 12 months and with some players back that’s 2 points lost with a despicable selection

My thoughts on him remain unchanged. If bland and banal mediocrity is your thing then Moyes is your man. He'll serve you that up on a plate for another decade like first time around with a few exceptions at times if allowed to.

It's nice not to have another season without worrying about relegation but we want to try and compete for a spot in Europe, and do something that the likes of Swansea, Middlesbrough, Birmingham, and Crystal Palace have managed to do since 1995 and that's win a trophy.

I don't mean to sound disrespectful to those clubs but if they can win a pot then why not Everton? I just don't think Moyes is capable of achieving any of this for Everton, and a new manager with fresh and more progressive ideas is needed preferably in the summer.

If not then then just let Moyes's contact run out, thank him for his mediocre and undistinguished services and move on.

Likely we'll finish the weekend in 9th which I think is about right for where we are.

I understand why people want a new manager, it's the way of the modern game, but it doesn't sit right with me that we look to get rid of him when we're not underperforming. Bringing someone knew in doesn't guarantee improvement - in many cases the opposite happens. People need to remember that.

If the tactics were for Danny Wellbeck to miss a free header from a corner and Mitoma to miss a one on one all while not trying to even bother having a shot in the first half, then yes the tactics were nearly perfect.

It’s a tad weird how some seem to forget how bad we were first half and only go by what happened in the second half.

Yes, it's you.

LOL you pretended to be stupid in the end and not understand what I was saying.

Amazing, I think you might be my favourite poster on here now.
