2025/26 David Moyes

I didn't say that.

All I said was that Moyes spent money to keep us at the same pace financially as our competitors. I said nothing more, you're just doing some heavy lifting to keep moving an argument towards other points you want to dig Moyes at. And that's your prerogative, but it's a poor mode of discussion.

Fair enough. I didn’t make my point particularly well.

I would agree the 25/26 spend was comparable to most clubs around us (with the usual exceptions of Brighton, Bournemouth & Brentford).

The point I should have made was that in the 23/24 season we didn’t match anybody’s spend but still managed to earn the 48 points.

I believe Moyes should have done better with the resources he received but can understand why you think we needed to spend the £100m to standstill.

As an aside this would lead to the conclusion that Dyche did incredibly well in 23/24 which would be contrary to the general view on here, but Dyche is, as you mentioned, no longer relevant to the future fortunately. 😊

or missing sitters, having kak strikers last min goals against, dodgy decisions

i could go on

it’s NOT all the manager
Yeah sorry Matty but as someone else has pointed out we haven't been missing bucketloads of sitters this season. Ndiaye and KDH missed a few in the last couple weeks but they look like they've been run into the ground by the lack of rotation.

Conceding last minute goals is a game management issue that I put completely on the manager. If its about Keane and Tarkowski playing together well then the answer is obviously to not play them together.

The only one you can give to Moyes imo is the decisions but realistically, being 3-1 up in the 84th minute against City, you should hold on regardless of any penalty situation. Game against this soon to be relegated West Ham, you should be winning comfortably without needing a call to go our way. Those decisions are scandalous don't get me wrong but there's a bigger picture.

Mid table squad, mid table budget, mid table finish. About par from moyes compared
Thats a rally cry

It is NOT but the manager is the ONE factor that can be controlled relatively easy and if done correctly can bring huge changes on the field and in the table in a short period of time. ..Amorin to Carrick is a great example. Same players, fans, budget, ownership whatever...

Dyche got decent points that season but our eyes were bleeding watching it.

….Keane says as soon as he came in he was talking about European qualification and it was a key focus of last summers pre-season. I have no doubt that’s the ambition, achieving it is obviously something else.

The ambition long term has to be to win. One of the domestic cups would be a good start, less talk of “cup runs”, it’s a term you would expect lower league clubs to make .

game management injury time goals conceded? oh so if a player switches off loses a man etc it’d moyes fault

LOL LIES

You were asked what you want Everton to achieve.
It's interesting that you state what you want for him and not what you want for Everton.

Theirs was the 'family and friends' opinion

Martinez when he 1st came he used to say it doesn't matter who we play we play to win and we will aim for the champions league.

When Champions league got mentioned to Moyes he said he was shaking because it got mentioned.

Show some ambition and stop pulling us down, saying we have had a good 1st season at Hill Dickinson, its been awful and he should have been pulled up about it

The gentlemans opinion.

Hopefully the owners ask him what he built with £50 million worth of players bought last season.

+ £100mil

Another week at Everton with another load of words. That’s all it is just talk. Years and years of talk about how we’re in the way up, how we’re building, how next season will be different, exciting times for Everton fans who deserve better etc.

I wish for once everyone at the club would just shut up and actually take some actions which result in progression rather than the same managers and same players doing the same things over and over again getting the same results.

We’ll talk about an unprecedented summer (again) and I’d wager a fair bit that next season the bulk of the team will still be the exact same as this season. Keane Gueye McNeil Tarkwoski Mykolenko will still be getting a load of game time.

We’ll go out the cups to the first decent prem opposition. We won’t win a derby, we won’t win any big away games.

Then we’ll say all the same stuff again next summer.

Nothing but talk.

Villa are in a European final, Palace are in one after winning a trophy last season. Newcastle have won a trophy and played CL football. Bournemouth and Brighton are probably going to be in Europe. Even West Ham won a trophy.

What’s Everton’s excuse? An unprecedented summer apparently of a new rebuild and we’ll probably end it with absolutely nothing yet again behind one team that sold half its first team in the summer and another that lost its manager and all its best players.

If the plan was clear last season

Sign 2 starters and a bunch of kids

We'd understand

But that would not happen as then we can say the plan failed. No development of kids.

So what was the plan?

I have no concept of the plan for next steps...

Moyes PR machine cranking up.

He did really well last year and seemed different - more progressive on the pitch, more honest off it.

He's defaulted into Moyes 1.0 for a lot of this season.

There has been progress this season, being safe in Jan/Feb has felt good after the trauma of last few years.

But just a bit more positivity at home we'd have had Europe/maybe even CL sewn up.

I can live with another year but letting him spend on players who's best days are behind them will be a big mistake imo.

Mate (a word i rarely use here)...

Chelsea, defeated destroyed and delinquent.

We beat them and witnessed PR Moyes.

Then...the reality of Moyes.

Another worrying point he made at his latest presser was about signing players with plenty of premier league experience is the in thing to do 🫨

So stones Ben White Soucek etc here they come

Its saturday.

Maybe lets see how he is on tuesday?

We'll see him tuesday?

….says something negative, gets criticised. Says something positive, gets criticised.

Saying that, I do tend to agree that actions speak louder than words but at least he’s saying what the vast majority on here say about mid-table not being good enough.

Best say nothing, just do the business next season ;)
Yes, we should all be at the " show me, dont tell me" point.
