2025/26 David Moyes

I much prefer watching the 1995 FA cup final DVD than the magnificent 7th one

No way. Signing Andrei was like signing peak Hazard at the time. Signing Barmby was signing a young England squad player. Speed was a top class player who had won the championship. We haven’t signed anywhere near that calibre of player apart from Grealish and he is nowhere near as good as Andrei Kanchelskis. Royle had a top 6 budget and we finished top 6. Moyes has a top 12 budget as he has for his entire time with us.
Over a calendar year, unfortunately split over 2 seasons. Christmas to Christmas we had accumulated the 2nd most points only behind a great Utd side. First full season after the cup win, Kanchelskis got injured on his debut and was out for a while. Plus we had other injuries. Arsenal scoring last minute of the final game, stopped us qualifying for Europe

2nd season sitting 5th at Christmas. We lost, Parkinson, grant and I think the other was hinchcliffe all in the same game. Then things started to unravel and Royle was gone 3 months later. Yes he had money, but you still need to spend it well. He was a better manager than Moyes fur me and what he did at Oldham was outstanding

Im assuming Moyes is going to select his favorites over the ones who have merited time on the pitch such as Rohl. I think it's extremely shortsighted by Moyes as Gana who has an occasional solid game can also underwhelm and despite his impressive longevity as a player, Moyes should be looking to phase him out to provide opportunities to the younger talents that need crucial game time to foster their skills and further familiarize themselves with the league. So building from that premise ,mcneil should not be factored into any long term project and should be used sparingly as possible

Yes I think Gana should be out the team most weeks now. They also say players usually have a drop off after Afcon. Obviously we can’t not play Ndiaye and he’s younger not 36 like gana.
I will be very surprised if McNeil and gana aren’t starting today, we know how
Moyes works

Could be a bit of a fork in the road moment if he goes back to O’Brien at RB and the 4-2-3-1 with the spare part floating number 10 today.

If he get the points on the board there will be the posts claiming better than last year & stability is everything despite the probability that the team could be so much better & could play some decent football. 😊

Such an uninspiring manager in every way
I particularly liked the part of the press conference when they asked about Barry scoring 5 in 6 and Moyes answer was "he needs to play much better".
We all know there are ares of his game to improve, but the manager could atleast acknowledge he's been doing well lately. To immediately jump to a negative comment is just baffling.
