2025/26 David Moyes

This thing about a new manager definitely progressing us is interesting.
Some of the names been bandied about aren't really progressing their own clubs .
It seems many think a new manager will have us improving dramatically. Not sure about that.

Some fans demand perfection and at any sign of imperfection the calls for a new manager come in.

As with a lot of unknowns, it is a risk. If we were close to relegation there would be no doubt that we needed change, but we aren't anywhere near and still looking up the table, rather than down. We are far from perfect. However, what we are is progressing and this is all after one transfer window.

I certainly don't think Moyes is the man to take us further forward, than competing for the lower/mid European places. He is also getting on and will be looking at an 'upstairs' job/full retirement in the next couple of years.

I think it would be too risky to get in a new manager for next season, if we are there or thereabouts (top half to Europe). If we are there then it should be about looking for a succession for the season after, at the very least.

if he can’t it’s then TFG choice in it

but you could get a manager and be ok
at home ( as you should )

but not as good as we are away now
But home form is so more important, because you will just not be as good away every year. Brentford and Sunderland both have better home from than us, so on that basis, they’re more likely to
Finish above us. 1 in 6 we’ve won at home and had some easy fixtures.

i get your and your home games

“should always be IE you go for it”

but we could be good at home next year and crap away?

and the games we’ve won away

have been hard fixtures

we can all debate but it’s what TFG WANT

Yeah I get that mate, but I don’t do the away games anymore as I cant afford it. So (selfishly) I would rather we were good at home and crap away, at least the. I get entertained when i go to the match. I see what you’re saying and I honestly wish I could be as positive as you are, but they are boring / frustrating me to death.

i get you mate totally and the rest of us

were at home and you should attack!

but it’s a balance in it we need to find it

Has to go at the end of the season and get a manager that plays progressive football

Moyes time here is coming to an end. It showed last night when Branthwaite came on that as we slowly get our better players back we're surprise surprise a better side. I thought leeds movement in the first half was good and it highlighted how stagnant Everton were/are and that can be a Moyes thing. But this team is crying out for some decent fullbacks. Even the goal last night came from our defensive midfielder getting into a position that our non existent overlapping fullbacks should be, putting balls into the box.

Swap the last two results around and the permanently embittered still be in their box waiting to be rattled.

Really can't see any other manager getting us any further than we are now with what we have...

Most other teams if not all, would pleased with progression from where Everton are starting from this season.

The entitlement of some is staggering given what we have all experienced in recent years, supporting this club.

Well on our way away from being one of the clubs playing relegation bingo.

No quick fixes these days, you can't just spend and if you can many more clubs than ever have the money to compete as well.
It's 100% correct this.

If we had drew Villa away and won against Leeds they'd have to begrudgingly call that a good result. Now they can keep banging their drum about the home form.

It was poor yesterday but we also don't have some good given right to win every home match. It is very frustrating watching them not capitalize on all of these opportunities to kick on though, I get the anger today.

The full backs are a problem but we've had long enough to realise that and try to mitigate the issues they cause to some extent. It's not really clear to me why we insist on playing in a way which is reliant on width being provided by the full backs when we don't actually have width being provided by the full backs. At least if you just whack McNeil on the left, or Dibling later on, or if we'd brought Aznou on, you can get some width from them, but we seem absolutely determined to play inverted wingers who want to cut inside and create space for an overlap which never arrives. It's really bizarre.
