2025/26 David Moyes

Got it wrong first half but made some smart tactical and personnel changes, leading to a much better second half

Just as I’d critique a manager for making poor changes I’ll have to give him credit for making good ones

The problem is he gets the set up wrong nearly every home game. Barry got him out of jail, it was at best a half chance.

If he throws this type of home performance in the derby against possibly the worst Liverpool team there’s been for a decade he’ll be inviting massive pressure.

You can’t throw both the cups like he did and then produce these type of home performances. I know the away record is good but fans have paid 100s to watch the team play at home and we must be tracking now close to Martinez’s worst home record.
He won’t though as that game can be played to his strengths, no expectation to win, so can set up to not lose and hope for the best.
Backs to the wall, knife to a gun fight etc etc, those games are his forte

Worst PL home record for us is 20/21 with 22 points. That was without fans in the stadium. Worst with fans is 2015/16 with 23 points.

We currently have 16. These are the remaining fixtures: Bournemouth, United, Burnley, Chelsea, Liverpool, City, Sunderland.

We need a big uplift just to avoid posting one of our worst ever home PL seasons.
On all known form, we'll win one of those games. Burnley. I fear the worst in four.

Well we have one point from the last 3 times we played them and that was thanks to a last minute equaliser. Liverpool were also absolutely terrible in all three games yet still won two of them. I wouldn’t put any money on us whatsoever winning that derby.

Have you not seen our away form over the last 12 months though?

You have to give him credit for the away from, it's brilliant, and you know what, he's come in, settled it all down, and hats off to him for that, it's what we needed.

But I'm the summer it has to be the start of a change.

There are lots to like about Moyes but there's even more to dislike, his tactics, sef up, attitude at home is abysmal, everything is safety first, everything positive is met with something negative, the way people talk about him In here is like they think no one else could do the job, I think it comes from a bit of fear of the unknown, Moyes having a chokehold on the club and the fans is not good, I see the cultish things I saw with dyche happening to fans with Moyes,

He is getting tactically outmatched at home far too easily, and often, it's too negative, and I think we are probably one of the most negative and boring teams to watch at home.

Get to the summer, make the change, let's get something new going, with something to build.

Although an awful first half, tonight proved he’s willing to adapt the tactics and he got it spot on. Matched their formation and we began to win the battles/control the middle of the park.
