2025/26 David Moyes

The Bournemouth spending narrative doesn't really hold water. Their net spend over the past five years is ~£120m which is, granted, significantly more than ours. However, that equates to approximately £24m a season, which is not a lot of money in today's game. I have been told, many times, on this forum that the £100+m that Moyes spent last summer is "nothing" these days. Bournemouth are just a very well run club. When they sold 3/4 of their starting defense last summer I thought they'd be in big trouble this season. But, they'd done their homework, recruited the replacements before selling the incumbents and, imo, have a very good coach who managed the transition well. I suspect the policy of buying low then selling high is why Iraola wants out, developing players and as soon as they start getting to that elite level selling them off must be quite dispiriting.
Absolutely no doubt that Bournemouth have sold and recruited well but the key for me is that Iraola has integrated the raft of new signings into a successful and exciting team , something that Moyes has been incapable of doing ( with the exception of KDH).

Who ?? and attractive to who ??

I see managers below us in the league....and the odd team done well for small periods, nothing at all screams top top drawer manager.

Its more risky to take a chance on Ireola than keeping Moyes for another season or so, imo.
Iraola definitely is appealing to a lot of people. Plays better football, develops young players. Has Bournemouth finishing above us this season despite having all his best players sold and having to reinvest on a smaller budget than what we have available.

They're on a 16 game unbeaten run atm.
