2025/26 David Moyes

I actually wouldn’t mind him being replaced in the summer but, you do know that at this moment a hell of a lot of that summer spend is currently absent right? Moyes needs to be doing better, but judging him as if he has a full squad fit and available seems harsh.
Squad is still seriously unbalanced and lacking quality in some key areas. The likes of KDH and Illi have papered over some serious cracks. We’ve a chance to get a rb in at least this window and with the AFCON players back and KDH fit we’ll be okay. I’d say the plan is to make more signings in the summer and that’s when I think Moyes will be in trouble if there’s no genuine progression next season.

Which is very black and white mate, it suggests that winning games is an event without a process of building and ignoring the obvious context of being on our backside now.

What are the biggest two features stopping us from winning game right now - in my opinion 1. Is availability of our best players, injuries, Afcon, Suspension. 2. Is the low base of
Squad quality this management team walked into which I think is impacting still.

I feel were year 1 of minimum 3 of recovery at a minimum. That will be sustained process as oppoaed to an event of just winning - every game.

From a macro point of view from last to this progress has been made.

When we have a full squad available this management team and group has proven it can win PL games. Can it win every PL game - no - but who does…..
Stop talking sense !

Do you know he can change tactics during the game without change players?
But he never done that.

Do you know he has five options on the bench to play different ways? But he never done that.
It's not how he rolls, although when his teams go ahead against bottom half teams they usually win, so I was a bit surprised how poor we were second half. I still maintain we have a bottom 8 squad and I still think that's where we'll finish, but we have missed a good opportunity for progression this season, mainly due to poor recruitment but also partly due to intransigent management.

had to google the meaning of intransigent.... nice word. Not one you hear often.

I can't see him going anywhere in the summer, regardless of how some might feel. The owners will no doubt just see this season as an improvement on last season (which it undeniably is) and a safe transition from relegation dogfights to mid-table mediocrity. Their investment is protected. The difference between 7th/8th to 13th/14th might feel massive to us, but I doubt they will see it as enough to sack Moyes. You might not like it but unless we get dragged into a relegation battle (and for all Moyes's faults, I think we all know that is not going to happen) he'll see his contract out.

Tend to agree, however TFG have shown themselves to be a bit trigger happy in Rome, so you never know.
Something tells me they will be expecting at least top 10 as bumbling around the bottom ½ will impact their commercial revenue or at least their ability to raise it.

A manager is there to manage the team whilst it plays a match, to change tactics personal when needed, depending on how the game is unfolding.

Moyes to me failed in his role last night as every man and his dog could see the game slipping away did he change tactics or personal no.

86 minutes he was completely happy with what he was seeing.

He has the club on hold until the end of Jan when some of our better players return, so until this time it will be poor performance after poor results.

Based on this Moyes is not the manager to take us to the next level as proven tonight and other matches he is very limited in his tactics and game management.

Hopefully the Friedkins have some major plans in the summer

This. His in game management is as bad as Dyche was. He just threw another striker on against Brentford and no one knew what they should be doing and we promptly let 2 goals in within 5 minutes of the change.
In contrast, Edwards totally flummoxed him at half time by making one substitution, tweaked his formation and Moyes did nothing to address it even though it totally changed momentum of the game.
