Big Sams Undies
Player Valuation: £25m
JOB should have been nowhere near RB today
He has won games with that back line. He was never going to play patto unless he has to. Getting a starting rb, a proper striker and another option in midfield. He is probably safe now until the summer, but I need to see more from him before getting another stab at it next season. Massive month for him this...out of the cup and nothing to play for the rest of the seasonBack him with players? He's got a solid back line and he changes it. He gets a strong run going early season and he changes it. Any time there's a sign of progress, it gets undone not by lack of players, but by Moyes own stupidity.
No wonder there's lads on the pitch with no confidence. Play well and get dropped, because one of Moyes favorite ball hoofers is fit.
Sack. Sack. Sack.
Mykolenko is a bad fullback but he’s a fullback. He’s in the spots he should be and trying to do the right things. O’Brien doesn’t understand the position. It blows my mind. Not sure I trust Patto but the balance is so much better when O'Brien is central and not on the right. Hell, when Garner took Myko's place on the left we looked drastically better. Fix the fullback positions ffs.
Yeah not since a month ago at home to Newcastledefensive disaster. I’ve not seen us get ripe apart and so poor at the receiving end of pressing for a long time.
We lost because brentford wanted it more. Much more.
He’s not getting sacked when we’re closer to top 6 than bottom 6Perfect time to make a change..Give the new guy half a season to settle before setting up for a new season..
You're not reading what I'm saying, you're reading what you want to read.
Again, I was in the very clear minority in not rating our recruitment in the summer. The posts are there. May, right until the window closed.
So for clarity - I'm not saying we recruited well.
We lack balance, pace, and a striker. I'd banged on loads that I'd have kept Calvert-Lewin, and signed pace out wide and full backs as a priority.
But nevertheless, the debate was in relation to comparisons to Everton's previous squads - which were awful.
- Last summer we spent a club record amount.
- Last summer we spent more than the previous 7 years combined. Thats without Grealish factored in, or a £17m obligation for Rohl.
There isn't a single player you'd both tell me who left in the summer we should have kept, and and considering this season we've been able to play Grealish instead of the likes of Harrison or Gray, or Dewsbury-Hall instead of Doucoure - then yes, of course as a squad we've improved. We're not gone backwards, unless you want to tell me the players we lost who we're missing.
More of it just speaks volumes about recruitment. I 100 percent agree that the right side is the bigger issue. I was kind of making the point that Garner is a better option than both at fullback which says it all.Mykolenko is a bad fullback but he’s a fullback. He’s in the spots he should be and trying to do the right things. O’Brien doesn’t understand the position.
Why did he change the defensive set up to something that we know doesn't work.
Agree but when we are critical we get attacked, I just want to be clear that I praise him when it’s due. Fact is though our home form isn’t good. The new stadium isnt a fortress.Been outwitted at home to many times this season
yeah minging set up from the start. Brentford played well.I praise Moyes when he deserves it and criticize when he deserves it. He was totally outwitted today.
You are probably the only one.
What has Rohl done in 4 months here?
This is true. But he's not getting a contract extension or staying beyond the summer if we have a modicum of ambition. He’s not getting sacked when we’re closer to top 6 than bottom 6
Absolutely nuts that he didn't and apparently doesn't see full backs as a priority in the transfer marketI praise Moyes when he deserves it and criticize when he deserves it. He was totally outwitted today.
