2025/26 David Moyes

Back him with players? He's got a solid back line and he changes it. He gets a strong run going early season and he changes it. Any time there's a sign of progress, it gets undone not by lack of players, but by Moyes own stupidity.

No wonder there's lads on the pitch with no confidence. Play well and get dropped, because one of Moyes favorite ball hoofers is fit.

Sack. Sack. Sack.
He has won games with that back line. He was never going to play patto unless he has to. Getting a starting rb, a proper striker and another option in midfield. He is probably safe now until the summer, but I need to see more from him before getting another stab at it next season. Massive month for him this...out of the cup and nothing to play for the rest of the season

It blows my mind. Not sure I trust Patto but the balance is so much better when O'Brien is central and not on the right. Hell, when Garner took Myko's place on the left we looked drastically better. Fix the fullback positions ffs.
Mykolenko is a bad fullback but he’s a fullback. He’s in the spots he should be and trying to do the right things. O’Brien doesn’t understand the position.

You're not reading what I'm saying, you're reading what you want to read.

Again, I was in the very clear minority in not rating our recruitment in the summer. The posts are there. May, right until the window closed.

So for clarity - I'm not saying we recruited well.

We lack balance, pace, and a striker. I'd banged on loads that I'd have kept Calvert-Lewin, and signed pace out wide and full backs as a priority.

But nevertheless, the debate was in relation to comparisons to Everton's previous squads - which were awful.

  • Last summer we spent a club record amount.

  • Last summer we spent more than the previous 7 years combined. Thats without Grealish factored in, or a £17m obligation for Rohl.

There isn't a single player you'd both tell me who left in the summer we should have kept, and and considering this season we've been able to play Grealish instead of the likes of Harrison or Gray, or Dewsbury-Hall instead of Doucoure - then yes, of course as a squad we've improved. We're not gone backwards, unless you want to tell me the players we lost who we're missing.

This squad is not widely improved on last years.

KDH and Grealish are the only two players you can make any sort of case for.

The other players we signed have had 0 impact whatsoever. That's not an improvement. It doesn't matter how much was spent if it produces no tangible benefit.

Just because I don't want the players we let go it doesn't automatically make the players we brought in superior.

More of it just speaks volumes about recruitment. I 100 percent agree that the right side is the bigger issue. I was kind of making the point that Garner is a better option than both at fullback which says it all.

Has he called for his immediate sacking, or does he rather want him gone in the summer?

You are probably the only one.

What has Rohl done in 4 months here?

Moyes loves Rohl - can't speak highly enough of him.

When he's been fit, which hasn't been enough - he's had the luxury of Dewsbury-Hall to play ahead of him. Or even McNeil today, who remarkably was once our most important outfield player in the final third.

Compare that to previous years when we had Doucoure and, erm. /Shrug.
