I genuinely don't think Moyes is a poor tactician. I just think he can be a braindead manager when it comes to personnel. His selections will get him fired. There is not a shot in hell O'Brien should be at RB and Keane and Tarks in the middle. We have enough evidence by now to draw that conclusion.

Two things we should definitely not do:

1) Sack him now

2) Keep him beyond the end of the season

And the only reason for 1) is that I don’t want us to panic into another uninspiring mid-season appointment.

Terrible result. Poor set up, tactics, subs, the list could go on.

But for one season it’s nice not be shittin it re relegation. He’s definitely not a long term option but see how things pan out to the season end.

Makes a rod for his own back. Takes a step forward and then two back because he just can’t let go of 4231 and cannot get past playing whichever players have the most appearances. Could have kept with the team and formation that swept Forest aside but he just couldn’t help himself. Utter stupidity.

It's the beginning of the end - as this period threatened to be. Wolves is simply a must-win now - regardless of their uptick. And he daren't play the reserves in the cup...but I bet he can't resist the temptation.

He'll be in situ until the summer. But he's not doing enough to make the case for his retention.

He needs to fix the right side. There’s hundred of other issues but that’s the one that needs to be dealt with most immediately.

O’Brien has started at CB twice: two wins.
O’Brien was dropped entirely and Garner played RB: a win.
O’Brien was shifted from RB to CB chasing the game against Palace: another win.

It’s not a ton of games but the team functions better when he’s not out there. We do not carry a balance threat and it constantly puts us in bad spots. He’s also poor defensively in a lot of situations as a RB. It’s so fixable! Just trust Patterson or Armstrong.

Even if we’d had KDH he would have been lost playing number 10. The formation was wrong and the major error was taking OBrien out the middle and putting Keane back in.

Branthwaite needs to come back asap otherwise this will just keep happening.

That was poor.
Embarrassingly so. But reacting to every single result as its either brilliant or terrible is ridiculous too.
We are a mid table 8th to 14th and will mix good with bad.. compare points totals and finishing position in may. In a table so concentrated 6 points can move a team from 5th to 14th .

He got it wrong today, thankfully thats usually the exception rather than the rule...

We were defensively solid against forest, changed it here and looked a shambles....

If Patterson can't play then I'd move garner to rb against wolves...

Armstrong can slot in to the midfield...

What is the point in sacking him...back him with players...the recruitment was poor during the summer, not sure how much is moyes fault. We need better players end off...we need a rb to start with, then if moyes don't play him and plays obrien instead with no results, then sack him.

Back him with players? He's got a solid back line and he changes it. He gets a strong run going early season and he changes it. Any time there's a sign of progress, it gets undone not by lack of players, but by Moyes own stupidity.

No wonder there's lads on the pitch with no confidence. Play well and get dropped, because one of Moyes favorite ball hoofers is fit.
