It's all niceties and clichƩs. Used to irritate me no end when I worked in sports media (another life a long time ago). But I know why it's done -- don't give the media anything they can sensationalize. The worst thing about press conferences is when they ask a manager how he thinks what kind of a job the opponents manager is doing expecting them to say something different to a platitude in some form or another. It's a complete waste of a question and time
Whilst I donāt agree and whilst I am in the pro Moyes camp I appreciate the balanced and logical view on why you donāt like Moyes. I think when you have manager with so much history itās hard not to have an opinion one way or another. Most posters who donāt really want him regularly mention what they donāt like about him, it all should be clear to most fans regardless if your own opinion.
I personally see him as very arrogant and because of how low we fell and the environment created by Blue Bill he saw himself as bigger than the club and played us down constantly. I was very tired of him by the time he left, and itās a pity Bill didnāt go at the same time. His general demeanor and comments after he left just confirmed that opinion for me. If heād won something or had a real go in big games I could understand it. Just my and other fans opinions, Iāve no issue that others see it differently
Beyond that, my biggest disappointment right now is this is supposed to be a new era, and whilst Iām delighted we are not an absolute wreck of a club as in recent years, itās very uninspiring and very āEverton thatā to have our new era kicked off with something Iāve seen a million times before.
But he is doing a very good job like I say, and it's great to see people excited instead of utterly terrified!
I just don't think we need to be getting at each other for what I think are reasonable stances on a manager we all know inside out
(Leaving aside the main wum whose opinion should be ignored I think)

Itās not for any of us to convince others of what we think is the correct view, truth is I can see in your response that thereās logical reasons as to why you dislike him, opinions I think hold merit.
The problem is on this subject especially certain poster just like to fan the flames!
I read your post twice and canāt extract from it why you donāt like him. Because heās a bit arrogant and he left us is all I can decipher.
Odd, but long may his good performance as Everton manager continue.
Thatās all pressers in a nutshell. It's all niceties and clichĆ©s. Used to irritate me no end when I worked in sports media (another life a long time ago). But I know why it's done -- don't give the media anything they can sensationalize.
Iām not excited about Moyes being back at Everton.Well I led with the bit about all of this being repeated throughout the thread so I didnāt want to go through a list of things I donāt like about him.
I didnāt say a bit arrogant and I didnāt mention anything about the act of leaving us.
Your reply tbh just sounds to me like you donāt want to consider that others are not feeling the same excitement you are about having him back, and itās an exchange thatās already been done in this very thread
Iām not excited about Moyes being back at Everton.
What isnāt up for debate is that Moyes has made Everton a better side who are now competing at the right end of the table.
Heās always done it⦠itās just what he does. He takes sides and gets them playing in Europe regularly. He did it first time round here; and itās likely if heās given time heāll do it again.
Personally, Iām painfully bored of the lazy (and incorrect) pops at him. āDivvering Daveā or āheās too negativeā. Itās nonsense. He is (and has been) one of the best Premier League manager around. Just enjoy him whilst heās here and dust off that passport.
Can you show me it?And thatās all fine, but I am bored of the dismissive posts reacting to any criticism of him.
I donāt really have any opinion of the dithering thing but I do believe he is more negative than I would like. He is a %s manager and itās not my cup of tea. Thereās absolutely nothing wrong with it but itās not for me.
I donāt think itās nonsense to call him negative as thereās a lot of evidence to suggest he is. Itās also true to say he had us playing some great football at times, itās just in my opinion the dour % football was more prominent.
He has done very well since he came back, everybody is saying it. Personally think the league is a bit of a weird one though with a win or a loss sending you down or up several places. Letās see where we are at end of season.
Can you show me it?
So thereās not evidence to confirm heās negative? No, I donāt have that much interest in the conversation as itās done to death. That he is a % manager in my opinion will mean he will be more negative than positive as a rule. The football I watched for the most part showed me this. You disagree. As I say, thatās fine
So thereās not evidence to confirm heās negative?
No I didnāt - I said Iām not excited by it.You are baiting him to bite mate, he has already explained that it's just a difference of opinions.
You just said yourself You weren't happy with him coming back..
So thereās not evidence to confirm heās negative?
