2025/26 David Moyes

After being on life support for 3 years I've always held the belief it would take us a couple of seasons to get on really steady ground.

Am willing to be patient and let the club build itself back up,not sure how patient some Blues are willing to be in this regard.

As long as the fans can see the club making a modicum of progress that should be enough for everyone relax realise we're on the right track.
Life support for 3 years? Where have you been you glory hunter!

What is the point of a presser when he never tells us anything about injuries or for looking forward about when we can look forward to any come backs, someone needs to tell him that our fans look forward to information and he does not own the club.
Again, someone being negative, looking for bad stuff, when there is none there. TRY to be positive, or if you cannot do that, just wallow in your own world of misery on your own, don't put it out for all the world to see 💙

5th: Chelsea
Just punted their manager and disharmony with their fanbase

6th: United
Disharmony surrounding the fans and potentially up/down results

7th: Sunderland
Can their form continue all season

Big big big opportunity for us if we can bring in a top right back at least.
You forget our "neighbours" getting booed after drawing at home last night and lucky not to have lost...

If you haven't learnt from pressers yet, then you are in for a very long disapointing journey..

having a very good defence is a great foundation for success

if we can add more creativity and goals to this side by signing really good full backs and a striker then this squad is capable of challenging for a champions league spot
Correct. Build from the back. Be solid, then move on. One step at a time, Rome wasn't built in a day, a journey of a 1000 miles begins with a single step, etc, etc.

Our biggest threat is injuries and suspensions.

Although id like signings I actually think this squad, fit and healthy has got enough to finish in the European places.

The league is a much of a muchness this year.

I think with the subtantial improvement with Iroegbunam. The two fabulous centre back performances from O'Brjen and the unleashing of Dibling thats a reasonable target.

However, we do still have glaring weaknesses with limited attacking output from left back, no top right back and KDH being used as a 10.

I mean, as things stand we are currently in a european spot. Can we continue OUR form? If we make a couple good additions this window, and strikers start scoring I dont see any reason why not outside of injuries.

The real dream is Branthwaite comes back, we get a striker who scores, and add a competent fullback. Then the team is well-rounded and europe is the goal.

Id forget the striker unless Beto goes. If were looking big picture then we have to get Barry games so he steps up a level next season.

Weve been linked with 2 or 3 right backs now in the media so its an open secret that one is needed.

If we signed the new Cafu then I'd be super confident we'd have a high chance of Europe. We need that player asap so Ndiaye & Dibling can benefit, not to mention O'Brien and Tarkowski would benefit as well.

A key position.

Very close table this year, it's 10 points difference between 4th and 15th after half of the season, but I am confident.

I'm sticking to my guns and saying that Moyes needs Europe this season or we need to see the team being recycled for next season. Meaning significant game time for Dibling and potentially the likes of Iroegbunam, Barry and others to drop the age of the team significantly.

If we go with the old pros and favourites then he has to come away with a tangible reward for sacrificing player development.

Were 5pts off 4th and 2pts off 5th.

Unless the RS have a huge dip for at least half a dozen games we wont catch them now.

5th - 7th we have a slim chance.

8th would be a very good position. Anything above that and we'll be ecstatic.

The worst thing about press conferences is when they ask a manager how he thinks what kind of a job the opponents manager is doing expecting them to say something different to a platitude in some form or another. It's a complete waste of a question and time

Apart from our wants and desires to know as much as we can about the club, why do we need to know?

For me, it's twofold: as @Rita_Poon said, if you don't clarify specifically how long, you can't be held to account by the fans if there are setbacks.

Also, importantly, you remove the attention drawn to get the play back into the squad, which could inadvertently cause more harm in the long-term.

It also means that the opposition have less of an idea of who will start, which is important in the days of clubs doing intelligence gathering.

Not so long ago, there were continuous leaks coming from an individual in the squad, which arguably put us at a disadvantage with our preparations.

The club have worked hard to stamp that out, so they wouldn't themselves then divulge the information directly. Frustrating? Yes. Important? Not really.

Just feels a recent trend. Like we have no idea how bad KDH is, why can’t he give some kind of indication.

Need to be looking for his replacement in the summer.
Why ? If you look at our available squad and the league table , I think even Davey's harshest critics would be able to see what a good job he's doing .
Let him steady the ship , get a settled squad then maybe look elsewhere. It's going to take a couple of years to get the squad to a competitive level and Moyes will want to leave on his own terms sooner rather than later .
Enjoy the journey .
