A lot of the language used online is not the same as that used offline. My Everton supporting mates would never say "he" lost two in a row. He doesn't get to play. Everton, or "we" win or lose. I think most of us are not pro or anti moyes, we just support the team and whoever the manager is, and especially when we're doing better than we've done in about a decade.

My specific case: I am absolutely Pro-Everton, but at the same time I am also Pro-Moyes. Context: I switched to Football from Cricket after reading about Moyes' declaration of People's club and the whole noise over Rooney's departure. It made newspapers in India as well at the time. So, curious I came over to see what's the deal and got hooked, to Everton. I followed all the clubs he managed as my second club after Everton. So yeah, I am pro-Moyes. He got me hooked to football in general and Everton in particular.

Fair enough. But the pro anti thing is an internet phenomenon I would say. You don't have to be either pro or anti anything, just be yourself and have an opinion. A lot of people who come on websites seem to want an argument, so invent "pro" and "anti" camps that wouldn't exist on the walk to Goodison, just people with opinions.

I’m sure you are not trying to put words in my mouth or apply thoughts to me that I haven’t had, but you are somehow managing to do it

Words having substance does not equate to me having to provide you info on something any Everton fan will know is a very common opinion of our manager. It’s an odd stance tbh

I think you've done a good job of explaining your opinion over a number of posts and I know it is one shared by other decent posters on here.

I'm more positive about Moyes but understand it's like rolling a 4 rather than going with a more expansive manager who could be a 6. Or a 1.

I think he's a good manager to get us back on a solid footing but I don't think he'll get another 11 trophy-free years here.

Just sharpen those knives for when he loses two in a row. The glass ceiling shouts will come out again like broken records.

He's doing a very good job of it at the moment which is why everyone who wants him sacked wants it done because of how he was in his first stint. Not too many valid complaints to lodge at him right now beyond the cup exit and making an exaggeration of our first window of transfer spending in half a decade.

When he hits that glass ceiling is the time to talk about sacking him. Not while we are still on the elevator ride up.

If he's got anything like a grip on the reality of how supporters at this club think (which I doubt given his 100% backing of Kenwright down the years) then he'll have read the room after that exit at the hands of Wolves and he'll be putting every available first team starter on the pitch and winning against Sunderland. Losing that game is not an option.

I really think a year ago, if we were offered what Moyes has done in the last year we'd have all been happy. If not for a few very dodgy ref and VARs we'd be doing even better.

What is the point of a presser when he never tells us anything about injuries or for looking forward about when we can look forward to any come backs, someone needs to tell him that our fans look forward to information and he does not own the club.

I just tune in for the coffee slurping and titty lip.

My 2 pence: Don’t like

- His preference for older experienced players vs developing younger players
- His negative set ups - set up not to lose rather than trying to win, keeping it tight & trying to nick one
- Rolling over for the ‘big’ teams, especially Liverpool
- He can’t change in game, if we go a goal down it’s usually game over
- His poor track record with strikers
- The way he manages expectations downwards

Conversely he is doing well points wise which is certainly refreshing after the complete disaster of our last ownership, he builds great defences & he knows how to beat the lower teams in the league & so can guarantee 40 points plus.

I don’t have a problem with him staying for a period as long as he doesn’t lumber us with older experienced players on long contracts but wouldn’t won’t him involved longer term in any capacity.

While he is here we will be safe, may get a run in Europe but won’t win anything. We have read the book before & nothing he has done this time around indicates that it is going to be rewritten.
