David Moyes 'God Squad' article regarding his Christian beliefs

I'm not trying to be controverial or be anti-Moyes or anti-Christianity or anything but this is something I've been wondering for a while.

Did Moyes only sign people who were religious and stick with players that were perhaps this way inclined.

I refer to the amount of his signings who enter the pitch 'holy crossing' themselves (Jelavic, I've noticed, Pienaar of course, Yobo, Anichebe is known for his Christian beliefs, I've seen Mirallas do it).

It would be worrying if he forced players out of the club who were not God-inclined or favoured those only who had similar beliefs. Not saying it was the case but it's something I've wondered about in the past and this article just popped up so I thought I'd post it.[/QUOTE]

I"ve read the book that link came from. McDonagh is a knob. Motes is a good man and religion does not affect his judgement of a player. You want Ibrox for all that ****e.....

What a load of absolute tosh who gives a flying f@ck such and article. As long as player does biz he can believe in what he wants

Wow, that was quite honestly a shock to me! I had never thought of where Moyes put his faith before, but in every way, i makes sense. He is obviously not a zealot but he cares and i think that adds character to a man. Sure it looks sheepish with Pienaar's GOD IS GREAT shenanigans but at least that belief brought about some integrity and guile to a lad in the slums, like.

I notice i don't mind at all. Actually i encourage it. And even though secterianism is outdated, it's only good and true to have a catholic lad at the traditionally catholic club.
