I think people are looking at the article wrong, this part spoke volumes to me:

we all say we are too honest on the pitch and should play the game more often like other managers/players do to get decisions etc. reckon this was why?

Good point, also most religious people are feeble minded or mentally ill, so that could explain a lot.

It would be worrying if he forced players out of the club who were not God-inclined or favoured those only who had similar beliefs.

Maybe he does favour players who have some sort of religious belief?! Joking. Doubt it, just posted cos I was bored, but I'm certain David Moyes doesn't like me cos I'm a heathen.
