I was reminded watching yesterday's match of a post I made a while back. While Kenny is my preferred choice at RB , we also have a further three young players who have played minutes at RB for us in the PL - Mason Holgate, Callum Connolly and Matt Pennington. I think my original post also included Ty Browning, now on loan. My point is between these four we have more than adequate cover at RB while Seamus recovers. What it does require is some more specific work with all four , work on weaknesses , develop a PL mentality etc, this should be something that Koeman with his ability is more than capable of . If not bring in Unsy for additional sessions of work with them.
I don't have a view on how good Martina is, I haven't seen enough of him, but it just seems we are getting a squad bit part player, who may be experienced but will also require work to integrate into our playing methods. Just more dead wood to move on in summer of 2018.

Most people saying Holgate not good enough at full back. Cuckoo is about as popular as a bacon buttie at the Jewish vegetarian convention.
Most people wanting Kenny. I've not seen loads of him, but I haven't been bowled over by what I have seen. The other options mooted from the current squad are pants or out of position. Whoever we pick I reckon the opposition will be targeting that flank as a weakness. I'm not convinced. Against the stronger teams, many of whom we play in the first few weeks, I would be preparing a 3 man back line, with wing backs, probably playing Tom Davies on the right and Baines on the left. Back 3 from Williams, Jags, Keane, Holgate, Mori (injury dependent) and Besic.

Good post and I completely agree. Last season was a waste for Kenny and Dowell, they should have had more game time. Koeman should be covering right back spot with players we have not signing Martina & telling Unsworth to stop making comments that players like Kenny are ready.
