Nice guy. Woeful footballer. Its makes things worse when Koeman knew how bad he was. He couldnt get into the saints squad. Please continue Clear out the riff raff. I can name another 6 easy.

Baines is never and has never been a great tackler, but he’s no Cuco Martina. He actually understands the concept of tackling, doesn’t just randomly dangle his strong leg out while turning away in the vague hope of making contact with the ball. To compare any aspect of Baines’ game to this joke is hugely insulting.

As far as crossing goes, Coleman isn’t the best either but at least he actually tries to pick out a man. This fella just lashes it over without even looking up, 99/100 onto the centre back’s head or over everyone. I can’t stress how bad he is enough, he doesn’t have one single attribute that’s above a mediocre Championship level. Koeman disgraced this club by bringing him here in the first place and Allardyce even further by suggesting he was good enough to play for us.

So Baines is excused not being a great tackler, and Coleman excused for poor crossing, but Cuco isn't. The amount of vitriol addressed to some players by self appointed internet warriors beggars belief. Cuco has minimal talent in Premier League terms but always tried his very best for the team...a lot more than some of the so called 'stars'. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

Baines and Coleman have proved themselves quality players over many years at this level, you can excuse them having a couple of weak attributes. It’s different when talking about a player that doesn’t have any good attributes and hasn’t proven himself anywhere in his career.

And as @Mikey_Fitzgerald has already alluded to in this thread, the “tried his very best” theory can most definitely be called into question. People say that because they need to find something, anything to praise him for, and there aren’t any technical attributes they can use.

Mate there's a huge difference between hating a player and thinking they are truly awful. Ie I genuinely hate Williams and I think he's crap same with bolasie
But Martina I don't hate him I just think he's a calamity. Like he is genuinely the worst footballer I've ever seen live from a top flight team

The blame rests fairly and squarely on the shoulders of Koeman and Walsh.

He should never have been given a contract, as it was plain as day he was a turd from day one.

Koeman must`ve known this, as he worked with him at Southampton.

Well said Steve.

Truly Terrible player, There was a reason he was third choice right back at Southampton and they where happy to give him away for free

I read somewhere that he is a good trainer and likeable lad around the place. Clearly in terms of ability not at all good enough for this level. But I didn't have any issues with his attitude or application. So good luck to him. If its loan to buy that is excellent work.
