No you haven’t. It insinuates that it is an article from the times, but is actually from something called ‘off-guardian’ and is an interpretation of what was written. Obviously you can reproduce the link though......

There is no interpretation, no insinuation as they have reproduced the full letter that appeared in the Times on 16 March. Are you claiming the letter wasn't actually written and need proof i.e evidence? Look at the Times letters page 16 March, It is there in black and white. Seek and ye will find. I bet buffoon Johnson and May wished they had taken more care before the big Goebbels lie.

Edit. The UK should be investigated by the OPCW, over the claims by the UVF.

Yet your obfuscation in your previous reply suggested you had said where it was from, when it wasn’t, as it was from a totally different media source. If I hadn’t have pointed out the actual source you would have happily let people think it was a mainstream and credible report, which it isn’t........you are doing exactly what you accuse the U.K. government of doing....

The letter appeared in the Times on 16 March. No obfuscation at all they reproduced it in full. You can register and see for yourself if you so wish. I repeat what ithe consultant said, 'May I clarify that no patients have experienced symptoms of nerve-agent poisoning in Salisbury'. Obviously, we can all dismiss May's and Johnson's big Goebbels lie that it was a 'nerve-agent attack'.

This ain't going to end well for Johnson or May as their rhetoric is being questioned more and more and their credibility sinks lower and lower.

The Times.....

“Dozens of patients who went to hospital after the Salisbury poisoning were unaffected by the nerve agent, a doctor has revealed.

As Theresa May visited the Wiltshire city and declared it “open for business”, Stephen Davies, a consultant in emergency medicine at the Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust, said that no one other than Sergei and Yulia Skripal and Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey had needed treatment.”

That is not the letter but someone's interpretation of what the consultant said. The consultant's letter, 'May I clarify that no patients have experienced symptoms of nerve-agent poisoning in Salisbury'. That was how he was trying to allay fears. Find the letter, it is in the letter section 16 March. You will need to register to see the full article and the letter.

I don’t subscribe to the Times or any newspaper sorry.....but even the Russians haven’t tried this one....

Tried what? 'May I clarify that no patient has experienced any symptoms of nerve-agent poisoning in Salisbury'. Or the UVF letter about Anthrax?

You don't have to subscribe to view the full article or the letter.

Scrutiny is treason?

BBC newspaper review: scrutiny of the government is treason

One of the classic propaganda tricks used by tyrannical authoritarian regimes all throughout history is to attack any criticism or scrutiny of the government/ruling class as treason.

This kind of tactic is common in Putin's Russia, as well as various other dictatorial regimes, but this dangerously authoritarian propaganda technique is now being used by the British establishment to undermine scrutiny of the government, even when they've been caught out lying.

What's even more worrying than the fact that Boris Johnson has used this grotesque propaganda tactic to derail criticism of his Porton Down lies, is that the BBC is using it too.

Take a look at this clip of the right-wing Daily Telegraph columnist Jane Merrick on a BBC Newspaper review. She actually claims that "Jeremy Corbyn is taking the word of the Russian government rather than the British government."

Jane Merrick on BBC paper review: "Jeremy Corbyn is taking the word of the Russian government rather than the British government. I think that's quite worrying."

Moral of the story: believe your government, even when it lies.

Scrutiny is treachery.

So even when a government minister has been caught out lying, the BBC are bitterly attacking the political opposition for holding him to account.

As Alex Nunns pointed out, the propaganda messages the BBC are sending out here are "believe your government, even when it lies" and "scrutiny is treachery".

Then if we actually look at what Jeremy Corbyn actually said, another thing becomes clear. Corbyn didn't "take the word of the Russian government" at all.

What Jeremy Corbyn actually did was take the word of the British Porton Down chemical weapons experts, and then point out the total incompatibility of what they said with what Boris Johnson claimed they had said.

It's a massive, and spectacularly dishonest leap to portray Jeremy Corbyn taking the word of the Porton Down chemical weapons experts as "Jeremy Corbyn is taking the word of the Russian government".

If it had been just one right-wing columnist spreading this kind of distorted version of events it would have been bad enough, but all three of the people on the BBC Newspaper review adopt the same anti-Corbyn "scrutiny is treachery"stance. There's no balance at all.

The fact is that this kind of completely one-sided and brazenly dishonest propaganda attack on the political opposition is the kind of thing you'd expect to see from a state broadcaster in Putin's Russia, but it's happening now, in Britain, on the BBC.

And if we allow this kind of extreme "scrutiny of the government is treason" propaganda from the state broadcaster to go unchallenged, then we're clearly strolling down the path towards authoritarianism and tyranny.

I can see your concern, however, the BBC is not the place to go for news anymore or to view generally. It really is an older person platform. All the evidence suggests it's core ordinance is of 60+. An age group that generally votes centre right anyway. State funded or state broadcaster, state irrelevance for me. It's ok in parts, but certainly not the be all and end all in 2018 or beyond that's for sure! No wonder the centre right struggles with Corbyn and his generally progressive and young vote, they are totally not tuned in.

Russia denying they have ever produced Novichok now, it's not their chemical weapon apparently

They just lie and lie and lie, just like when they shot down that jumbo and doctored satellite photos to try prove it wasn't them.

Putin and his cronies can stamp their feet and act hard all they want, but Russia has a 10th of the firepower of NATO, a 10th, and an economy as big as Italy's.

We've known for years that Putin's Russia uses lies and disinformation very effectively, however it shouldn't deflect from our government's weak response and semantic liberties which are also shocking.

I would also beware of just looking at the bottom line dollar investment in military when willy-waving, they're not directly comparable because of the strength of their currency and their ability to manufacture internally.

If it came down to a war without Nukes they'd get royally handed their arse in double quick time, Nukes involved, end of the world.

Worst thing about the whole affair is the BBC's role. You expect the Government to fabricate and embellish, you even expect the BBC to be broadly behind the British Government line. What's been more surprising is how much like Pravda the BBC and its craven journalists have become. They are completely captured by the state security apparatus now and there are no cautionary words to be heard anywhere on that channel. They criticise RT for being the mouthpiece of the Kremlin, but how on earth can they not be seen as the broadcasting arm of Whitehall?

The BBC has laughed haughtily at and lambasted the Trump administration for their declaration of "fake news" on any criticism. With every passing day they underline that Trump has won the day and that they now fit the bill of fake news purveyors.

You saying this is all fake dave and it's nothing to do with the Russian's?

If so it shows Russia's tactics of spreading doubt and disinformation has worked on some.
