Good day for Lancs slightly spoiled by the needless run out of Balderson to the last ball of the day to leave Lancs 11-1 in reply to Glos 252 all out. Star of the day: Hassan Ali who bowled superbly and fully deserved his figures of 17-6-47-6. No wickets for Anderson, though he bowled well enough, while Mahmood picked up 2 wickets with probably his worst balls of the day, both caught down the leg side. Weak link in the bowling was Danny Lamb, who is either out of form or daunted by bowling alongside three international-class bowlers. That didn't affect Balderson who bowled 19 useful overs.

Hopefully now Vilas is in the scoring rate will up a bit. Not sure if there's rain around tomorrow or Sunday so need a good lead and plenty of time to get at them.

I think they will tomorrow, especially with Salt to come. Good composed innings from Bohannon. Have to say that Glos attack one of the weaker ones I've seen in recent years. Only Higgins and Zafar looked 1st Division quality - I know they've got a couple of injuries but I can see why they've signed Mohammed Amir for a few games.
