It was a good catch but England players are brain dead sometimes. trying to save a test match an playing shots like that.

It's all over. Great win for us, especially considering they won the toss on a flat wicket, and we won comfortably by an innings. This was a woeful performance by the English.

Yeah it'll be up to him to work out a defence or to put the open chested off drive away. He'll get runs in his first knock as the bowlers haven't really seen him before but not after this

Top test bowlers are good enough and accurate enough to now almost exclusively target the full ball outside off - almost on fifth stump to Sibley. His runs will either dry up completely if he puts the shot away or he'll nick off.

Some remedial work needed on his technique if he's to prosper at the higher level imo.

Bit harsh to call for remedial work after one game but I know what you mean. His open stance is a relatively new technique for him which he worked on with Gary Palmer last year and reaped the rewards last summer. He made a bright start at Surrey but then struggled, lost his place and moved to Warwick where he initially struggled and it was only after working with Palmer that he flourished. However, just as it took county bowlers 12 months to work Hameed out, the same could happen with Sibley. It's only England's desperation to find a reliable opener that has caused both of them to be selected prematurely on the strength of one good season.

I wouldn't write Sibley off yet as, after one season, he's still a work in progress. He must surely go to South Africa, after which we'll have a better idea of his immediate future.

Disgusting that. Especially in a relatively quiet, genteel setting such as a test cricket ground where families with kids are likely to have heard this idiot's comments. Hopefully he's identified and banned from attending sports games here.
