There isn't an ounce of back step in ben stokes, tough as hell that lad and completely weird he is still getting criticised while outperforming his team, if only he had gone to the right school

Second successive test now where Stokes has dropped a catch, and the batsman involved has gone on to get a hundred.

England bowling much better this morning. The trick in NZL conditions, especially in the morning, is to pitch the ball up on a good length and give the ball a chance to swing. Looks like the Poms have finally got the memo.

Looking forward to the Boxing Day test. NZ is no cricketing powerhouse, but on odd occasion we present reasonably enough...and the MCG on Boxing Day is an iconic cricketing fixture...we haven’t been there in over a generation.

When did you last win a series in Australia ? Is it something like the Bledsoe cup for which you play ? Who or what is Bledsoe ?

1985/86, Hadlee was on the very top of his game and took 33 wickets in a three-test series. If I'm not mistaken, that's still a record for number of wickets taken by a bowler in a three-test series. We haven't beaten the Aussies in a test series over there since.

However, the current team is our best test side since that 80's team. Australia would still be favourites, but if Boult and Southee are fit and firing and Latham, Williamson and Taylor get amongst the runs, you never know.

tough for England this...they needed to bat first (after winning the toss again).
It’ll be a draw this game

I think sending New Zealand in to bat was the correct decision by England. They need to win this one to draw the series, best way to do that was to bowl us out cheaply first up.

Problem for the English was they didn't bowl well yesterday in helpful bowling conditions, and stupidly they haven't selected a specialist spinner for the NZL second innings.

Take some early wickets and that Australian batting line-up looks flaky.

Currently 369-1 lol , but against a young Pakistani team. New Zealand have a nice blend, should get Lockie Ferguson back into the side.

Yeah mate I think Ferguson will play in Australia. Pitches over there are more about pace and bounce, speed is king. In years gone by our swing/seam bowlers tend to struggle in Australia (Hadlee exempted, but the man was brilliant).
