I don't follow English cricket too closely mate, so you might be able to answer this for me - how does a bloke like Crawley who averages 31 in first-class cricket as a specialist batsman get in the team ahead of say, Jonny Bairstow?

Whenever I've watched Bairstow against New Zealand, he's been brilliant. Can't understand why he's been dropped from the test side.

Whenever I've watched Bairstow against New Zealand, he's been brilliant. Can't understand why he's been dropped from the test side.

He's 21, played a couple of seasons for Kent, averaging last season a reasonable 34 scoring over 800 runs. One for the future they hope. Bairstow will probably return for the South Africa series, not least for back up to Buttler in case of injury.
