....David ‘Bumble’ Hughes said yesterday he thinks NZ are a great e/w bet.
I think we are a wee ways behind England and India. Of course, on our day we could beat both...but I won't be betting on us being WC winners (unless of course the odds are priced too attractively)

PS I've met Bumble...lovely bloke...and a lot more serious in real life

Backed them at 5/4 to reach the semi's. They've won the last few home series pretty easy against the likes of Pakistan. You'd imagine England and India would finish ahead of them but you don't know what's happening with the Aussies and S Africa have got a lot of bowling injuries. Good value that.

that's a 44.4% probability...when/if it gets to 33% (ie 2:1), I might be tempted.

.....the only problem I see is that they play high risk cricket. Roy could have easily been out early last night but survived a few scares. In a knockout game they could have a collapse but I suppose the risk is mitigated by them having so many top batters.

They bat down to 11 though, the high risk stuff isn't really a concern for me, you have root, Morgan and stokes who can all play a rebuilding role if need be and still do it at 5 an over.

A stroll in the park for the hugely understrength invincibles. 5.1 overs and 6 wickets in hand, a mismatch lol

Seriously though playing on a minuscule ground just massively inflates scores, you get double and even treble value for any shot at all, even a mishit, everything goes for six.

That 359 was possibly worth about 250 on a normal postage stamp sized ground and was found wanting once the Jonny and Jason show started rolling.

More than five overs to spare and in second gear after the openers went, an absolute massacre. Pakistan fielded like a team full of geriatrics too, worse than a minor club's third xi.

Wood is fit for the next match according to Morgan, with Archer and Rashid back that bowling attack will be completely transformed from the county standard one playing today.

Dawson for Denly a no brainer, one over for nine with two big full tosses thrown in from Denly, Morgan couldnt get him off quick enough, he knows his weak link.

Why on earth they thought a thirty three year old non spinning leg spinner would fit is beyond me, he's meant to be some sort of batting cover too, but has struggled badly every time he's been given a chance... his time has well run out.

I seriously don't understand the denly logic. They even have the luxury of 6 bowlers and they still give him a twirl. I was thinking he will probably get a place in the 14 as one of the backup batsmen, shame about hales.

But I can't see the need for wood, he doesn't get in the 14 for me and one of woakes, Curran, plunkett or Willey won't make the cut either. Archer has to be picked for me, I have no idea why he's not played these last two, maybe they've already made their mind up, but he needs games.

If its a dry summer or a flat pitch like yesterday then England need something different, they're only really short on pace as everything else is covered, Wood showed he had plenty in the West Indies one dayers

Archer and Wood (if fit, that's his real battle) are certainties for me

Yeah, I suppose, I just don't think we're going to get those wickets in england. Think plunkett is a cert because he does get important wickets in the middle overs. Woakes is a good all rounder who has been key, willey offers variety and the two spinners are certs.

They can't make the wrong decisions that's for sure.
