That's why you play stokes. Not the most consistent. But will pull you out of a hole with either bat or ball. Can't believe people were questioning him.

An absolutely huge innings from Ben Stokes and what a game Tom Curran had.
England showed once again that batting deep is a major strength, tbh the run rate never got out of hand even with Roy, Root, Buttler, Ali and Denly all going within 50 or 60 runs.
With Ben Stokes the game is never over and his partnership with Tom Curran took it deep and from there, there was only ever likely to be one team that could win.
Jason Roy should be in the white and red ball sides for me, he's quality, deservedly man of the match here, and can bat the situation too.
Pakistan really need to practice fielding.

I think that they need to be more committed with their fielding. It’s all a bit half-hearted.
I agree that Roy should be given a go opening in the test side. With licence to play his natural attacking game, as Warner does for the aussies.

James Vince has scored some very big scores for Hampshire, so he's capable, but it's understanding at the higher level when you need to take on shots and when you don't. Until then he'd played some glorious shots. That one got steep on him but I reckon in the England camp they'd say look, in that example, it was the right shot to go for, it just wasn't executed in the right manner.
