Was there today ( to support Hants). Absorbing rather than entertaining game. Lancs bowling very light beyond Anderson (who took a nasty blow on the knee and couldn't bowl his last two overs as a result) and the excellent Mahmood. Excellent bowling at the death by Hants Mason Crane meant Lancs score at least 30 light anyway. Enjoyable day ( but **** you Palace, scoring five after the guffI've seen at Selhurst this season!)

How nippy is Mahmood ?

Deceptively quick delivery mainly through his arm action. Run up is a quick military medium. Best Lancs bowler after Anderson by some distance.

England looking good. One down though.
Buttler been rested - could have let him play for lancs on Sunday, might have made a big difference given Vince starred for them who was given permission to play.

Hameed can't get a score at the moment.
