Could this be OUR time?

Be aware, I was on Bluemoon last night looking for something to read (I couldn't sleep, lol) and one of them quoted something from this thread I think in one of theirs bashing Everton supporters about some kerfuffle on a Facebook page.

They're amongst us.

We know this. They've been stalking LCAB for a while.

But we've got his back against the snides.

They don't.

Well, one or two do. But the majority of them absolutely despise us. I'm not too bothered really, I'm not especially struck on them either.
Let them do what they do because they're going to anyway, their mental problems are well documented. Just when they talk about being beyond our level and whatnot it makes the double we did over them last season all the more satisfactory.

Thats ok. I've grown to absolutely despise them as well. Not that I'm interested in their fans pages on Facebook. The below quote on Bluemoon did strike a chord with me.

Basically you see them on more Everton sites and pages then us on theirs. Why? Because they're the Frank Gallaghers of the interweb.

Kids half his age who never saw any football before 2003. They do not understand debate nor know what being honourable is.
Give 'em a quid and send them to the sweet shop.

More like down the local 'offie - and those little Shameless characters will come out just like Frank Gallagher. Its in their genes.

THis year is the start of a new dyastany for everton

Either that or the wheels will come off, somehow. I'm with LCAB on this one - there have been far too many false dawns, kicks in the teeth and banana skins for any of us to talk so certainly about such things. My default prediction for every new season is "misery and heartbreak." Anything better than that is then a welcome bonus.

My mate , I kid you not , I'm fukn quoted on there more than fukn Gary Cooke !!!

Honest .

It's quite flattering in one way , but , tbh , that pales into isignificance when you consider the lengths of deviousness to which they regularly sink .

As I have noted before - often ; ..

They LOVE ME . They WANT TO BE ME !!!

Even with all the money in the world , they come and hang with us !!! THAT is how hot we are .

Vero .

We are talking about people who if they saw a picture of Tommy Booth, would think he was a porn star. Also, possibly Paul Power!

even our kopite neighbors at least dont stoop that low Well guess it has got to happen being a Legend; Celebrity ect L.C.A.B (y)

Howard
Coleman-Jagielka-Distin-Baines
Fellaini-Arteta
Anichebe-Cahill-Pienaar
Saha

Subs.
Mucha
Heitinga
Hibbert
Rodwell
Bilyaletdinov
Osman
Yakubu
Youngster like Gueye

We have a lot of strength in depth. FFS, I dont think Heitinga's a guranteed starter (In Moyes' eyes anyway), seeing as he seems to prefer Distin.

 I get the feeling we're in for a good season

Interesting. Captain Pip doesn't even make the bench...

Ill be happy to be competititive for a C.L. spot if that could successfully acheived over a period of a couple of years it would be real progress on and of the feild.

Ive been optimistic for the past two seasons, im a little more cautious this one for reason and thats injuries fully fit squad i think we would have gotten CL last year. When you analysise the last two seasons, we have had an injury crisis somewhere. The year we got to the cup final we had no strikers and last year at times in midfeild and defence. I think a lot of our season will be dictated by injuries to key players, especialy the likes of Jags, Pienaar and Arteta - the squad cant cope with those losses and often those three are the difference between a draw and a win.

Two things were evident for me from last year, that we rally need to improve on. One is that we havnt yet learned how to break down to deep banks of four - the likes of which Stoke, Brum, Wolves etc play. This is what i mean about Arteta and Pienaar being so vital, if anything happens to those two you can expect to draw those games as we did last season. One thing that impressed me about us last season was that if you came out and played against us we could beat absoulutley anyone. But the squad strength in terms of creativey in the Arteta and Pienaar mould concerns me - with question marks over the futures and injuries - they are very often the difference between 1 point and 3.

Secondly the defence needs to majorily pull up its socks, we conceaded far to many goals last season - something that has been a strength in the past. I know we had really bad injuries, looseing Lescott and new palyers coming in. But the defensive record was really poor and conceading goals against some very ordinary teams like, Brum, Stoke, Wolves and Bolton saw us loose some very vital points - if the CL is to be a reality you need to ai to keep in an aorund 20 clean sheets. The whole team has a responsability to be more solid, but the defence really needs to improve.

Yet i dont think the CL is impossible our squad inury free can beat any of our rivals - but i think it will be a slog and willbe determind by injuries to key players, an improvement in defence and a significant improvement in breaking down teams who play spoiling tactics aginst us.

Very well put!
Good reasons to be optimistic, but we need to take things one step at a time. Nowadays everyone but the top-6/7 set out to stifle our play, and we need to learn how to break these teams down. This is a sign of how far we have come, but we need to have a git more experience and guile that means we do not get frustrated, and allows us to beat these spoiling tactics. Last year we had too many games where we were unable to break teams down early despite battering them, and then the quality of our approach play fell apart as a result.
