Could this be OUR time?

We won't win the league. Let's be realistic, Im still gonna have a bet on it like, but we're not good enough for that yet. Certainly, we have a great squad now, but to win the title, you need to win games like Spurs, Chelsea, United, Liverpool, Arsenal away from home or get decent results, but you also need to cut out defeats and draws to the likes of Bolton, Stoke & Wolves.

If we can do this we can have a very good season. I'll stick by saying though, winning a trophy is paramount, i would settle for that over anything, finishing above the sh1te would be great aswell as we have only done that once since we last won the league

I remember thinking the same thing before the 84-85 season. And for most of that season too. Until about March, then I began to believe.

I'm not saying that we'll win it, but there's a reason why this club is magical. Every now and then we do the unexpected.

I think we're going to have a really good season it what will be a unusual league by recent standards as this Everton side is on the verge of something special.

I think City will be in the top 2 with Chelsea whilst us and Arsenal will fight out for 3rd & 4th. I expect this United side. the worst United side I can remember to sell some big name players this summer to fund debts (Vidic, Carrick or Berbatov) and to struggle and finish outside the top 4.

Villa and Spurs to fill 6th and 7th with the [Poor language removed] 8th although if anyone break of the chasing the pack they'll be even lower.

I don't know about anyone else, but frankly going back to 2001...

And thinking about now to then...

JESUS, we've got players now I'd have died for to get here back in 2001.

Watching Rodwell frankly is like me imagining playing for Everton. Its that good. Stuff dreams are (possibly) made of that kid.

We've shown glimpses.

What we need to do is just put these teams in front of us to the sword. No mercy.

Then let it all work itself out.

But Rodwell... THANK GOD HE'S A BLUE !

I don't think this will be our time. Because that implies the kind of success we had in the mid 80s, and even though we have a good squad, we don't have the finances to compete. I'd be surprised if we could get 5th next season. A trophy? Well that's possible, but I'd hope us fulfilling our potential would amount to more than a domestic cup.

Sorry if I sound negative, I'm just trying to be realistic. If you get your hopes up too much, it hurts all the more when it goes awry. All of this said, if we can hold onto Pienaar and Arteta, and not have any major injury setbacks... well, I think 4th is very possible. We'd just have to be a lot more clinical, and that's something we've not been for a while. It's a lot of ifs, but it's possible. Just not likely enough for me to get my hopes up.

I don't think we'll win the league, but if this squad achieves its potential we'll be within 10 points of those who do (probably Chelsea) which will probably be good enough for the top 4.

got to keep heart, Leicester local book makers Everton to win league have been backed down from 250/1 to 65/1 dream is alive : )

Fair enough mate if that is your opinion, but i find it dangerous writing off United, they always finish there or there-abouts, especially under Ferguson
