Utilities should be non profit! We need Corbyn back! Or Andy Burnham..
In nationalisation days - any monies were always put back into each department, e.g. waterboard you would not cream the profits off you would get the burst pipes fixed not hand it out to existing shareholders etc - Railways the same etc you dont need a person to do that you need a party who thinks certain industries should be nationalised to provide cheaper better services ......

If only we had a few professionals with half a brain between them running the country.

Think of all of our money that’s been spaffed over the last decade on Brexit, crap like HS2 and all of that dodgy covid PPE/track and trace etc….

Imagine if all of that wasted money was pumped into renewable energy.

The government is the Everton board on a grander scale.
They aren't idiots (most of them). They are criminals. They know exactly what they are doing..

Lots of screams for non-profit/ re-nationalisation for utilities etc, but this has to be backed up by sufficient pension provision. At the moment people are investing in private pensions which are entirely reliant on company profit and enhanced share value. The current state pension is a joke leaving people who have not had an excess to invest in abject poverty. I trust this will be addressed by a Labour government.

@spectateur what is it you’re unsure about? Lots of people depend on profits for these companies to give a decent standard of living. Get rid of the profits, then you need to increase state pensions

Probs nothing. In 10 years people on here will still be blaming this administration. I will likely be leaking into my adult nappy and won’t give one
You have noticed this bunch 13 years on are blaming blair and Brown still? Remember that 'no money' thing? When Labour left the debt was circa 850 Million, it's now over 2.4 Trillion. Remember austerity? fixing the roof whilst the sun shines? the broadest shoulders in society carrying the greatest burden? oven ready brexit? hostile environment? partying whilst their monarch mourned solo at her husbands funeral?
There's quite a lot to answer for, and I hope that social care and the nhs will be there for you (and me) in ten years time, because much more of these and there'll be benefit concerts in Sri Lanka and Eritrea for the impoverished masses of the UK.

Not sure where I disagreed with or mentioned anything in your post. Tell me Labour will rectify it all.

Sadly blaming the bunch before tends to be the easiest option. Tbf the legacy of harm thatcher and her idiot cabal did still means the rivers of hatred run passionately against the 'tory scum'. Long may the water flow...

Tbf, you lot (no offence) who post on here appear to my uneducated brain to be knowledgeable with regards to politics. Myself and the majority are not, so will blame whoever is in charge at the time

There's a famous film, and at the end the line goes "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist" well, the nasty party have tried something similar, they have bombarded the public with so much nothingness and boredom that great swathes of the populace they make decisions for have tuned em out. That's why ethel and vera get a say at their advanced years, because they've got nothing better to bother with and so the politicians pander to them re brown skinned foreigners and deh criminal yoof. I'm tired of this never ending fiasco as well, because as far away as we get from thatcher and her enablers, it's never far enough.
