It woz Labour gets a bit boring after 13 years.

It's not boring. It's relevant. It's national debt v national deficit. Labour, mid 2000's, turned a budget surplus into national debt. You can't reduce debt until you have eliminated the budget deficit.

Basic economics.

Remind me who privatised all the British utility companies and transport and sold them to foreign companies?

Money leaving the country on a grand scale does nothing to help the British economy.

Wasting 35billion on a Track and Trace pig feed does nothing to help the British economy.

Basic economics.

"It is not unusual for government to borrow. Since 1970/71, the government has had a surplus (spent less than it received in revenues) in only five years. The last budget surplus was in 2000/01."

Oh right.
But they did it once so it's basic economics pal.

Yeah, the more I looked at that graph he posted, the more I realised it really didnt show what he thinks it showed.

I am convinced some/many brands are making a LOT off extra cash in this. Profiteering.

Heinz baked beans. 80p (down from £1 !)
Sainsburys own brand. 21p.

Heinz ketchup. £3.80
Tesco own brand. £1.00

Cant tell the difference. But there is no way that the fundamental ingredients are 4 times higher for Heinz than whoever makes the own brands. (could well be them anyrate).

The branded stuff was always higher, obvs, but not 4 times higher.
I was in my local One Stop the other day , fancied a tin of soup . Their own brand tomato soup was 60p . The Heinz tin next to it was £1.85 . I can remember getting Heinz ones on special offer 50p from in Asda a few years ago
