Cops don't make the law, they are enforcing it. Degenerating public servants who would willing put their lives on the line for you is outrageous.

If you have a problem, contest in court or berate your local Councillor. They are just doing their jobs. A job by the way that most folks can't or won't do.

The notion that the police want to herd, or strip you of your rights or liberties is nonsense. They are people, with families just like you.

Law enforcement administers the law they don't write it.

Is there a law against reversing your car 10ft onto the street now?

My main beef here is with his curtains twitching neighbour who went from seeing somebody move their car to calling the police neglecting any of the steps inbetween.

The law and those enforcing it , in this country at least , have discretion. They don’t need to move a woman off a bench or turn up as a car has moved with bells and whistles . Off course move along a gathering or break up a party but should a modicum is good sense as well . Those in the high echelons of law enforcement have already nationally asked for a degree of uniformity because they recognise that this over zealousness will only have one outcome and long term it won’t be positive .

The government aren't arsed about people getting it, just want it to spread out ie not everyone at once so the NHS isn't swamped.

Am I alone in feeling a bit queasy with PL clubs using this Government wages scheme to pay their non playing staff?

Doesnt feel that was what it was meant for if I am honest.

As a business they are heavily affected by loss of match day income. How long before they lose advertising income and god forbid to income. If games aren't played later this year they will also have to reimburse season ticket holders and hospitality buyers who have paid up front

Honestly though, I can't even begin to argue with that. Your paranoid, conspiracy theories may get kudos with your mates. But in the real world no-one thinks like that. The vast majority of folks appreciate the work that is done.

Harry is talking rationally and with sense. You, on the other hand, are talking complete claptrap and accusing others of conspiracy theories.

It's a major issue, the handing over of powers to the police and army. Just give yourself some time to think about the dangers.

Surely your not suggesting that 'contaminated test kits' is cover for not reaching the 10 000 tests per day, never mind 'ramping it up' to 25 000 per day then 'ramping it up' even more to 250 000 per day? That would suggest a story put out to hide the announcement politics - not delivered like the other hundreds of announcements- of the individual who said that? Who was it now? Surely our free and fearless MSM would be onto such a ruse?

Barcelona and Juventus have set good examples. I can't believe that our clubs will still be paying their players full wages while furloughing their non-playing staff. Sicken me, if truth be told. We all know that there is way too much greed in PL Football, and this just confirms it. I haven't given much of a $h1t about football for the last few years tbh, and this just pushes me further down that path.

what’s conspiratorial? To say I don’t like to see the state not allowed a free run, that’s not conspiracy theory stuff it’s democracy . I’m also not paranoid , other than some slight PTSD but thanks for the Concern.

I genuinely have no idea what you’re talking about but if you think it’s a valuable used of the police’s time , a police service also heavily effected by illness, to arrive at a house because somebody had ‘moved their car ‘ then yeah we’re on very different pages .

We're not heading to a police state, c'mon Dave, you're a respected poster. We have a pandemic on our hands here. It's going to take extraordinary methods to beat it.

But it's temporary. Has some of the enforcement been over-zealous, maybe. But you have to look at it this way, folks have to stay at home. Yelling or issuing minor tickets is worth it in the long run. If it saves peoples lives.
