Don't understand how Germany is only reporting a 1% rise in new cases..?
Might be a revised number coming along later today?

Each region reports their new numbers daily to the public health authority. Over the weekend the flow of info from some of the regions slows down so they look smaller. They will then be catching up over the early part of the coming week.

China - a place with massive close proximity living in the city clusters, doctors who are paid directly by drug companies and a private health sector, appalling hygiene standards - deaths per 1m pop : 2. 8,000 total

Short Version; lets face it All governments lie and suppress the truth (and in some cases the people) and If China isn't in the top 6 most of us would be very surprised.

You're right and your wrong there. Yes all governments lie. However not all governments will willfully allow their citizens to die to stay in power. So it's a yes and a no.

The Chinese government is threat to humanity, like global warning etc. The only reason you don't hear about them is because of money, i.e greed. They are a scourge. I'm going to take a guess here that nobody, no posters here have lived under an authoritarian regime.

What we're are participating in now, you have no idea. Having a wee chat with your neighbor, if you criticized the government he might be a paid informer and you are disappeared. You're family have no avenue of re-dress. Want to post on social media that disagrees with government policy. Next day you're gone. And it continues.

The Chinese government are lying. Lying through their teeth. And yes, they are the biggest threat Western nations have faced since Nazi Germany. They are a genocidal government intent on complete control of their populace and they seek to expand.

They'll follow the inevitable steps that all repressive regimes take and make a scapegoat to keep their populace compliant.

Of course loads of German people knew. Why else do you think they made jokes about ovens? Who worked in the camps?

This is a daft comparison; two far better ones would be the Uyghur camps and the number of organ transplants carried out in China (especially the latter one) - given that they also involve the Chinese state delivering figures that make no sense unless you accept something horrible is going on.

That is a lie. The vast majority of Germans had no idea unless they lived around the camps. Stop spreading BS.

Alright mate - some of this is a bit nonsense. I worked over there and it was absolutely sound to discuss publicly Hu Jin Tao and his family stealing trillions of dollars from the state. And widespread misuse of IDs was really commonplace. The official figures are total garbage and it's a dirt hole of a country health wise but it's not quite as mad as you are suggesting (unless you're an Ughyir and then yes it is)
