Think about who you are batting for here. It was well known in intelligence services what was going on and that information was ignored. That information was repeatedly put forth to both European and the United States government.

To say noone knew of the Holocaust before the camps were discovered massively undermines the very real heroes who exposed it, though - as well as excusing the mass of German society who also knew what was going on.

I agree China’s figures are not plausible, but this comparison is a daft one.

This is false is on every level. As I already explained military intelligence knew but the extent of it was unfathomable, even to the German people.

Of course loads of German people knew. Why else do you think they made jokes about ovens? Who worked in the camps?

This is a daft comparison; two far better ones would be the Uyghur camps and the number of organ transplants carried out in China (especially the latter one) - given that they also involve the Chinese state delivering figures that make no sense unless you accept something horrible is going on.

It wasn't. Perhaps to the average person on the street the size of the atrocities were unknown, but it was much wider known (to some extent) than you're implying.

The Final Solution was such an extensive and complex process that it required a lot of administration, with many parts of the state and businesses involved.

Within Germany, you've got the SS Allgemeine, with it's subsidiary the Totenkopfverbände, the Deutsche Reichsbahn, IG Farben, Krupp, Deutstche Bank...

... Allianz, Heinkel, many (if not all) the motor factors to name just a few of many. Outside of Germany, you've got a few British and American companies involved.

Admittedly, the exact extent may not have been known my all, but the sheer scale of the process wasn't something that could be easily hidden, or wasn't hidden.
