A host GP was on LBC answering questions he reckons the virus could have been in the UK as early as November ....as China were not that forthcoming of the original breakout of Covid 19......

November would be a bit early, but the authorities in Hubei spent a lot of December warning doctors who tried to raise the alarm and the lockdown there didn't start until January 23rd.

Which given how everyone else has gone in two months and a bit kind of makes it hard to believe their statistics.

Really.

"A “strange pneumonia” was circulating in northern Italy as long ago as November, weeks before doctors were made aware of the
novel coronavirus outbreak in China, one of the European country’s leading medical experts said this week.
“They [general practitioners] remember having seen very strange pneumonia, very severe, particularly in old people in December and even November,” Giuseppe Remuzzi, the director of the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milan, said in an interview with the National Public Radio of the United States.
“This means that the virus was circulating, at least in [the northern region of] Lombardy and before we were aware of this outbreak occurring in China.”

Remuzzi’s comments came as scientists continue to search for the origin of the coronavirus. Chinese respiratory disease expert
Zhong Nanshan said earlier that although China was the first to report the pathogen, it was not yet certain where it actually came from. Lombardy is home to Italy’s largest Chinese population.

Remuzzi said it was only recently that he had heard from Italian doctors about the disease, which meant it had existed and been spreading without people’s knowledge.

I guess this is a good example of what I have been referring to in regards to the media and how dangerous it has been over the past few weeks. How it's creating panic and worry every single day.

Heartbreaking story no matter what the details are, not something you ever want happening.

However it was reported as dying from the Corona virus making her the youngest person to die from the virus in the UK. I remember reading this story when it first came out , no under lying health conditions and succumbed to covid 19. Terrifying really.

The real story is that she died from a heart attack and not the virus. However by printing that story without fact checking , it's created worry that a young healthy person can just die from getting the virus. Which may or may not be the case , I'm no expert on the matter. But it's misleading the population of the country if they are reading stories that aren't true , printed in all their media sources for news.

It makes you wonder how many of these stories are misleading, how many people are marked as covid 19 deaths when they aren't but reported in the media.

All I'll keep saying is that the media are contributing to all the panic and worry , all the mental health issues that so many people are experiencing. This virus existing should he feared , but I worry people still fear it for all the wrong reasons.

The article is gone so can’t comment specifically.
However, the coronavirus can cause multi organ failure which includes a heart attack. In such a case the cause of death would be complications of COVID-19. They do the same thing for flu.

It will do once a tax return is done (albeit I'm not in a position to afford to pay it yet). But as of yesterday they weren't counting self-employed people who set up in 2019-20.

It's all very confusing. I didn't set up in 2019-20 (set up in 16-17) but they are only counting 16 through to 19 as it stands. At first I was annoyed as that'd mean they'd be basing it off pretty much part-time wages, rather than full-time wages like it has been for the last year. But at least it'd be something. Then came the hammer blow that actually it's only if you've got that 50%. So God knows. Hoping for another tweak to it next week and will be speaking to an accountant on Monday. Trying not to worry though. I have enough to get me through two months - nowt to spend on I suppose!

And yeh I know. It's really difficult.

Someone could have had a condition and this has just weakened their system further, for example.

As far as I can tell, the vast majority of deaths come from the above, and not actually the virus itself as the direct cause. So it's really difficult to be able to put a gauge on it I suppose.
Correct me if I am wrong, but are you saying that the majority of deaths are NOT from the virus itself but because they had "underlying conditions" the virus weakened them and they were going to die anyway from their original complaint? So these deaths are collateral damage as far as the powers that be are concerned? Where does this sort of thinking originate? Presume you have read this somewhere ; could you kindly point me in the direction of it....thank you
Sorry about your experiences with sorting out income..hope it's resolved quickly for you.

I bet it’ll be interesting to see how the crime stats differ through the virus to normal.

Bet there’s also a boatload of newborns at the end of the year and divorces filed.
The air is cleaner in the big cities .....but reduced aeroplane flights is not being factored in the stats ...just cars .....it's bound to help though either way ......yetho es now occupied using gas etc must be higher in output of self isolation etc plus lock down etc....
