What does it mean day to day Marnie?

Are people walking to the shop and a few about or is it all cars?
It's a strange one really. We have to have a paper with us dated stating where we are going and a time period. We have 6 options on the paper 1 pharmacy or doctor 2 supermarket basic provisions 3 bank (which have now closed since) 4 visit the vulnerable 5 funerals/weddings (immediate family only) 6 exercise/walking the dog.You need this if you are walking to the shop or driving to it.No more than 2 people in a car and the police stop you whether on foot or in a car.A fine of 150 euro for not having your ID and the paper. The paper can only be used once a day.The streets are dead and there is no noise at all. They all seem to be getting it.Those that weren't are now withe first case on the island (a baby) confirmed yesterday.

List of professionals who are allowed to go to work in Ireland during lock down +:

-Health Care Workers and Social Carers.

-Food and medicine providers.

-Public service / civil service.

-Utilities.

-Transport (Lorry drivers, hauliers, bus/train).

-Journalists.

From the WHO China report
“Using available preliminary data, the median time from onset to clinical recovery for mild cases is approximately 2 weeks and is 3-6 weeks for patients with severe or critical disease. Preliminary data suggests that the time period from onset to the development of severe disease, including hypoxia, is 1 week. Among patients who have died, the time from symptom onset to outcome ranges from 2-8 weeks.“

Clinical recovery will just be the cardinal symptoms. Couple more weeks to feel normal for mild cases.
Add months for the critically ill until they are back to any semblance of normal

With regards to the situation here in Ireland. The country has been put on lockdown, for two weeks from midnight tonight.Community transmitions here are now at 51%.It's now out of control in the USA, while there is still people dying by the hundreds in Italy.I don't know how this will pan out, will my friends and family still be alive at the end of this. But i do know this is a grave situation, and i fear it's going to get a hell of a lot worse, before it gets better.

Worrying times indeed for us all.I think today was the day, where it finally hit home to me that this country, is in serious trouble. But i think the whole world is in trouble really. These are scary times, but i wish everyone here all the best, and hopefully the vast majority of us, will come through this period still alive, and with our family and friends still alive and well.Im pretty scared tbh, but we're all in the same boat here.

Alright Corky! Stay safe mate. I don't expect to see my almost 93 year old mother alive again. No visiting to her nursing home for last 3 weeks and now her floor on lockdown with 2 confirmed cases.

She is in a room on her own but very frail. Thankfully!!! she has advanced dementia but has no anxiety or worries. In her old self she would have worried herself to death long ago. This cocooning would have been impossible if she understood what was going on.

My prayers are for all caring professionals. God bless and protect them.

Take care everyone.
