That clap the NHS thing, a bit weird like . Lovely gesture but it's not like they can see or hear them?

Also seen someone posting they are humbled by the love for the NHS for themselves. Thought how patronising can you get? Sorry but an admin staff in some back office isn't quite the same as doctors and nurses treating people in the wards. If you aren't directly involved in the care of these patients then don't include yourself under the NHS banner.

Sorry if you disagree, hardly class someone sat at a computer punching numbers the same as someone actually treating and saving lives.

So one of my best mates who works at Arrowe Park, not on the front line, has just sent me this. He’s RS so won’t see I’ve posted this:

In fact I’m not even going to copy it on second thoughts. But to say clapping last night for NHS workers not directly saving lives is ‘hardly class’ is wrong. I’m not having a go here. Be aware though, that even the guy running the IT through to the woman cleaning children’s A&E are having a rough time too and are affected, more so than you might think.

So someone like my wife, who spends her life travelling round this country and sometimes overseas, visiting hospitals almost every day to make sure they get all the equipment they need when they need it, shouldn’t be included under the NHS banner, despite literally working for the NHS? She’ll be really pleased to hear that mate. I have a feeling she’ll - correctly - think you shouldn’t really be classed as a human being. Sorry if you disagree.

Alright Corky! Stay safe mate. I don't expect to see my almost 93 year old mother alive again. No visiting to her nursing home for last 3 weeks and now her floor on lockdown with 2 confirmed cases.

She is in a room on her own but very frail. Thankfully!!! she has advanced dementia but has no anxiety or worries. In her old self she would have worried herself to death long ago. This cocooning would have been impossible if she understood what was going on.

My prayers are for all caring professionals. God bless and protect them.

Take care everyone.

Thinking of and sending best wishes to your Mam and whole family a Chara.

Yeah calm down. You have taken what I have said and ran in a completely different direction there.

Your wife isn't exactly the same as a call centre transferring calls all day , or a coder typing codes in all day into a computer is she?

Times are worrying enough as it is, without you trying to find things to get heated about.

Unless you actually do think someone sat in an office putting numbers from a giant textbook all day is the same heroic sort of work as someone saving lives right now , and generally every day in their role.

This would be amazing if it works

Would be great. Had an episode this morning, woke up and couldn't breathe, and started worrying so much that I could breathe even less. Had to wake up the missus and all, and we considered calling an ambulance.

I have sleep apnea so what probably happened was that I woke up gasping, with all this news rolling around in my head, and panicked in my delirious, half asleep state. It's easy to laugh at now, because I can reflect on it with all my faculties, but in those ten minutes of thinking I was at death's door, I could definitely have used a test to tell me I was being a drama queen and I didn't have Covid19

I have sleep apnea too mate, very VERY horrible moments when for whatever reason (usually I've grabbed the mask or pipe clean off in my sleep) u wake up to a beating heart and feels like you can't catch your breath properly

I mean, if they work for the NHS in any capacity they are contributing aren't they? Whether that admin is sorting out patient numbers and allocating beds etc or it's a nurse on the wards.

Plus all the people who have volunteered.

The only 'weird' thing about the clap the NHS thing is that it'd have been much better if we'd just funded them properly for the last 10 years.

if you leave your house and go to work in a medical system, whether youre filling in spreadsheets, emptying rubbish, changing lightbulbs or running an A&E department, you're a hero.
