Chief medical officer, Chris whitty got it now

Whitty, Johnson, Hancock ... and everyone else at that level have basically ignored their own advice and will have been having meetings in enclosed rooms much closer than the recommended 2 metres. While I understand why they've done that, it's hard to have much sympathy for them.

Hopefully, part of the very small minority of the public who aren't taking it seriously see what's happened to these people and realise it could happen to anyone.

Was going to say something similar, however, it's Friday and I can do with out a cascade of Tory finger wagging about making a political points.

The heir to the throne, the Prime Minister, CMO and Health Minister have all been diagnosed with the virus, so it clearly is getting into all parts of our society.

Yet, you still know that Gary (fill name here) from around the corner will think he's fine because he's got his sleeveless vest on and a can of Carlsberg in his hand*.

*You never know, Covid-19 might want to stay away from that dish water too!

No one is modelling for that, as stated before, there are normally ~ 600k deaths per year in the UK. The driver in the UK, and every other country for that matter should be to keep excess COVID-19 deaths to as low a number as possible. If, at the end of this year ( and next year for that matter ), the overall number of deaths is similar to what you'd expect, then that'll be seen as being a very good outcome overall.

Do you expect to see an increase from 600k deaths this year as a result of Covid, And if you do, give me a ball park figure of the morbidity rate. Have I just entered the twilight zone?

"The overall figures are what you'd expect" Are you on drugs? This is a pandemic that has never been faced before, furthermore. We are not testing. I'm going to repeat that. We are not testing. How can you predict overall figures if you are not testing. If you don't have the data??? Seriously, what are you on about.

And yes they are modeling for that. I gave you the link. Morbidity figures are in the millions.

It's not that old. :( 2015, seems an alright choice to me. Broadcasting an old match would have been terrible imo lol
Maybe they could start showing the games from the Bulgarian top flight 2013, none of us would know how the games went so wouldn't know the result before hand and if you don't look for the scores on line then it would be like watching live football.

Gove is doing today's briefing.

This should be a bloodbath from the journos.
One of the least charismatic and reassuring individual I've ever watched, so this will be interesting. Hopefully, we're both wrong and he steps up to the task.

The way I feel at the moment I wouldn't be arsed if I never watched a footie match again - just let this nightmare end ASAP
Genuinely, I've not missed football in the slightest over the past week or two because it really isn't important in the grand scheme of things.
