Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Apart from quite a few, but collectively, the UK are good people, in the main.

I'm by no means some raving patriot, but I do get fed up of all the slating that goes on (and it is from people my age especially) of others in this country.

Hate the term 'boot lickers' and my mate who text me after the election result saying the UK was just 'full of selfish people' annoyed me too.

We have a fair few idiots and biggots and freaks on both sides of the argument but in the main when people are pushed they help each other - same the world over but I feel like terms such as the ones I've mentioned are too flippantly thrown around.

Again - it's a social media thing, more than anything, but it does get annoying. Deleting the Twitter app has helped, like.

I'm gonna sign up for the NHS thing too, just waiting to here on my shifts for next week (if any, which I doubt there will be more than one max!)

It is. Only plus is that Italy had gone back to the 700s yesterday after two days of decline, so hopefully this decline keeps declining!
the figures I saw for spain today are about 460, still horrible but hopefully are are flattening out. Also the daily new cases is maybe the one to watch in terms of social distancing having an effect

over 400,000 volunteering to support the already superhuman efforts from the NHS. To the bellend on here whittling on 'blitz spirit' no longer existing and using every excise under the sun to have a go at different generations or nationalities, you can stick that in your pipe you beaut. Wonderful effort
I wonder who that is ? I think he is on my ignored list since the Brexit thread.

Yeah they aren't pulling and fining everyone on the road. Even if they pull you, just explain and on your way.

Otherwise this is un-enforcable , the Italians managed it
Of course - just saying I don’t see why ‘after 7’ is the time to start pulling people. That’s an entirely reasonable time for a LOT of people to be out.

After shops shut and I’d agree.

Nightfall.

As I say there will be a lot of genuine people on the road , my mate is a delivery driver for dominoes at the minute for example. Same as shops, finishing work etc.

There should be significantly less people on the roads of a night time compared to the day. So if you have an unusually higher number then it's time to start pulling some of them over.

Are we genuinely? I assumed all flights (obviously misguidedly) were grounded
Have checked regularly on Flightradar and there’s loads of planes in the air all over Europe every day. They can’t all still be bringing people home surely? e.g. Dublin > Dusseldorf this evening.........why?

Those vids of what is (supposedly) going on / has been going in China are very worrying. Had seen one of the clips a few weeks back from someone in Wuhan. The others are new. I can't link it on here but it's bodies in the street/massive convoys of trucks spraying God knows what into the air/body on a bench in public with people just walking past. It's crazy.

Again, not even the virus. Anyone with sense can see the Chinese gov are lying about the deaths and infection rate. But just the fact that the rest of the world is following their example... Crashing the global economy and putting populations under house arrest (I know we're not there yet) in the process.

It's absolutely daft when you think about it - just the entire situation. And all under the reasoning of 'protecting old / vulnerable people' when these governments across the world hardly ever prioritise that group.
