Govt already back tracking over self testing kits made available to the general public.
Something stinks about all this...
Tbf, I don't have an inherent distrust of our government's policy now.
But it's just the entire situation and the ramifications of it and the reasons being given.
I probably sound like a nutjob but it's just so, well, bizarre.
The world has changed in a matter of weeks. I said yesterday it's like social-coding and it really is. It shows how quickly an entire population can be made to just do something out of well, fear... God knows.
Herd immunity has rightly been disregarded because it's too far along... but it really does seem the governments and WHO (who aren't blameless in this, they did little to push China for info early on) are seemingly following the lead of a nation which, simply put, might as well be on a different planet sometimes. There is no information coming out that should be trusted as reliable yet our governments are collectively basing their ways of treating it on that?
Hundreds of thousands must have died from this thing in China. Especially when you consider their overall population, living conditions in a lot of the massively polluted cities etc.
Their factories are certainly back up and running (my uncle runs a clothing label and their factory close(ish) to Wuhan is now back up and operational - not that it matters now like) but the damage and cost to life must be extraordinary.
Plus, there has been confirmed cases as far back as November on this. Travel wasn't shut down until what, mid-to-late January??
